It has been 1 week since Shane told me he loved me. I didn't know what to say at the time and I just walked out. I feel so bad, I just left him there with no explanation. We haven't spoken since then. I guess we are just both scared of Lisa finding out but I don't see why, it's not like we made out all night or anything. I need to talk to him. I think I feel the same way!
I roll over to see my alarm clock staring me in the face and it reads 7:30 am! WHAT!! I need to be at work in 30 minutes and that is NOT enough time for me to get ready. I jump out of bed a run to the shower. I quickly wash and blow dry my hair and get into my work uniform. I practically fall down the stairs and go and my breakfast (a cup of tea in a flask) taking small sips and I get in my car.
By the time I get to work it is 8:15. How did the time go so fast? As I walk out of the coffee smelling staff room, I see my boss walk up to me. I prepare myself for the usual speech. But this time he has a sad look on his face which is weird because he is usually angry.
"I'm so sorry I'm late. The traffic was really bad!" I begin.
"Look, Alice this is the final straw. You're fired. I'm sorry."
And with that he walks back to his office. I'm left in total shock. He always threatened to fire me but I never thought he would actually do it! I leave target and just sit in my car trying to take in what just happened. "I need to find a new job and fast," I say to myself.I turn the key and drive around town trying to find a job. But nowhere is hiring. I pull up to Starbucks. I have asked everywhere else so here I go.
I GOT THE JOB!! I start tomorrow morning at 8:30! I am so happy. Lost a job and gained a job all in the same day. All they wanted to know is that I can make tea and coffee. I drive home and set up my camera to tell my fans about my new job. Things are finally looking up!
The next day
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
7:00 am already. This time I am making sure that I get up in time to get to my new job! I do all of the usual things I do in the morning but slower. time to get a normal breakfast. I search through my cupboards and find just the thing. POP TARTS! I love pop tarts.
I arrive at work at 8:15 am with a beaming smile on my face.
"Ahh so you must be Alice," I hear a soft, gentle voice say behind me. I turn to see a brown haired girl, not much older than me. She is in and knee length, black skirt with a band t shirt on and black tights. "Yep that's me." I reply.
"Good, my name is Jade and I will be taking care of you today. Teaching you all the bits and bobs. Are you ready?"
"Indeed I am"
Jade shows me how to all of the machines and how to talk to the customers and she sets me up to work on the till for . I'm pretty good at it if I don't say so myself.
Everything is going fine until I hear the door of the shop open and I hear a familiar laugh. I think nothing of it and I go and check in with Jade as there is no one at the till. When I get back, I put some more change in the till.
"Excuse me can I have two coffees please." I hear a voice say.
"Yea sure, that will be $5 please sir" I say. I look up and come face to face with Shane! Our eyes lock, they link together like they were meant to be locked. This moment seems to be lasting forever until a small blond woman walks up and stands beside him. It feels like my heart is breaking into a million pieces.
"Oh hi Alice. I didn't know you worked here," Shane said. He said it like nothing had ever happened. Like we had been friends for ages and the things we said had never been said.
