My eyes flutter open and I smile as the sun beams though the curtains. I look over and see Alice sleeping peacefully. I sit up and walk into the bathroom and take a look at my hair. After all these years, my hair still looks fabulous. I hear a some giggling behind me and smile as I turn around and see my two wonderful children behind me. I can't believe they're already 5 years old! Josette runs up to me and reaches up asking for a hug. I bend down pick her up and kiss her cheek. Jamie runs back into our bedroom and I see him run over to Alice. Oh dear. I know how that little boy's mind works. I walk behind the energy filled 5 year old and watch how the situation unfolds. Jamie struggles getting one the bed, I feel Josette struggle so I put her down and she runs over to help her brother get onto the bed. Jamie turns to me.
"Daddy, come on!" He whispers. I chuckle and join my kids on the bed. We crawl over to my sleeping wife and I see Josette count down from 3 on her fingers. As soon as she reaches 0 she shouts "Now!" and we all jump on Alice who jumps awake and looks down at us. She gives us an annoyed little look and we all start to back off but soon her frown is turned upside down and she pulls us towards her and starts tickling us! Everyone bursts out with laughter and I decide that I shall say good morning to my wife. I move towards her head and kiss her forehead.
"Good Morning beautiful." I say with a smile and I notice that Alice blushes a little. After being married for this long, she still blushes when I compliment her.
"Good Morning handsome" She winks at me. "And good morning to my two troublesome children" She adds bringing in Jamie and Josette for a hug. It is at moments like this that I think that I am luckiest guy in the world!
After everyone has gotten up and dressed, I treat everyone to pancakes for breakfast. Once everyone had eaten, I remember that Joey and Jade are coming over today. We haven't seen them is a good 3 or 4 months. We made them the kids godparents so we see them quite a bit.
"Mummy, what are we doing today?" Josette asks while shoving the last bit of her pancake in her mouth.
"Well, We are going to clear up our breakfast plates and then Uncle Joey and Auntie Jade are spending the weekend with us." She smiles at Josette and then starts clearing up the mess I made in the kitchen. I feel a little bad but I know that if I try and help, Alice will just tell me not to worry and carry on cleaning any way. Even though it has been about 3 years, but it feels weird not doing YouTube everyday. As soon as the kids turned 2 years old, I made a video saying that it is time that I stopped YouTube. It was very hard but I am glad I did. I managed to get my movie out and of course I put Alice in it and now I am directing my own little tv series so things are going well. Alice finally finishes cleaning up the kitchen and the kids and soon I hear the door bell go. Jamie and Josette both run over to the door and Alice and I follow close behind. Jamie opens the door and there stand Joey and Jade.
"Uncle Joey! Auntie Jade!" They both shout and attack the two of them with hugs. I put my arm around Alice and walk over to the door to greet our guests.The kids detach and run upstairs to get what I assume to be stuff for Jade and Joey. I help Joey get their bags from the car and Jade and Alice go into the living room to chat. Just as Joey and I reach the front door, it starts to rain so I guess we will just stay inside today and go out tomorrow. I lead Joey to the guest room and I put their bags down.
"So how are things going Joey?" I ask as I stand up straight.
"Things are going pretty good thanks, Jade and I have moved into a bigger house."
"Very nice, you will have to give us the new address. May I ask why you need more space?" I ask nudging him in the arm.
"Well, erm, Jade and I are expecting a baby!" Joey says barely containing his smile and I smile a long with him.
