Chapter 5 ~Heather~After snuggling with Tinker Bell for a few more minutes, I went to find Jake because he'd be easier to talk to at first. Walking upstairs, I try guessing which of the six doors leads to Jake's room. Wandering around the hall I finally come across one door that stuck out from the others. It was a softer but old looking door and it reminded me of Jake's taste. Taking a deep breath, I open the door with a firm grasp and looked around the room for my annoying brother. Jake was sitting on his bed, nodding his head to the beat of whatever music he was listening to on his laptop. Walking towards his bed and am about to sit down, when Tinker Bell started hissing at Jake. Jake took off his headphones and hung them around his neck. He then looked at Tink and made this weird sound that was similar to a snarl. This caused the already traumatized kitty to burrow into my arms, but not before glaring at Jake. "What the heck Jakey!" I say as I shelter my kitty away from him. After a few minutes of glaring at me, Jake slowly stands up and shuts the door. "Did you tell Mom about your rat?" He asks. Surprised by attitude, I reply with a huff, " It's a cat you jerk and once I talk to Mom about it, she will be the newest member of our family," "Then you better go talk to her before Mom finds it herself," Stomping over to his door I resist the urge to slam his door on the way out. But that wouldn't be a good idea, I don't to lose any of my Mommy points. Taking a deep breath, I slowly descend the staircase as quietly as I possibly can with my squirmy kitten. As I made my way over to the living room, I took a seat besides my Mom on the couch. Curling my body around Tinker Bell I ask the question I've been dreading to ask.
"Um, Mom I found this cat outside. Can we keep it please? I promise I'll take care of it." I waited patiently for her to start yelling at me with my eyes squeezed shut. After a few moment of silence, I hesitantly open my eyes to find my Mom looking at me with tears streaking down her cheeks from where she sat on the couch. Smiling sadly, she asked me, " Are you sure you can take care of it?... Oh, and Honey promise me you won't get to attached because it might belong to someone else, but I doubt it." Smiling, I pick up Tinker Bell and place her on my Mom's lap. "Her name is Tinker Bell" Mom's eyes crinkle thoughtfully as she says to my kitten, "Tinker Bell Airwoode, welcome to the family."thanks for reading!
