Missing You (A Niall Horan story)

Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

*PRESENT*

-Miley's POV-

I haven't seen Niall since that night, I avoided everywhere I knew he could be. But it gets hard to avoid him as my little sister and his cousin are in the same year at school. I pick my sister up from school everyday and I sometimes see his cousin there, I think his name was Paddy? 

Speaking of picking my sister up from school I better go and do that now. I grabbed my keys and got into my car before driving to the school to collect my sister Lily. 

I parked the car and stood outside the gates and waited for Lily. I saw her blonde head walking along with her friends she smiled over at me before hugging them goodbye. I hadn't noticed that one of them was Paddy. 

Lily ran over to me and hugged me, I smiled down at her before lifting her in my arms. Before we managed to leave a heard a voice calling for my sister, we turned round to find Paddy running over to us holding something in his hands.

"Y-you f-forgot your h-hat Lily." Paddy panted handing the small pink hat to her.

"thanks Paddy" Lily smiled. 

I let her down as they started to chat, I looked around for Paddy's mum or dad but all I could see was Niall.

Oh no. What was he doing here?!

I started to panic as he searched around for Paddy.

"Right it's time to go now Lily, thanks again Paddy for giving her her hat." I said as I dragged Lily away from him.

I looked back to see Niall standing with Paddy zipping up his coat for him. Niall looked up and our eyes meet for the first time in what felt like years. He smiled weakly at me, without thinking I turned around and headed towards the car at top speed.

"Was that Niall your boyfriend?" Lily asked

"Yes it was Niall but he isn't my boyfriend anymore Lily." I said

"oh why not?" she asked innocently

"We stopped loving each other." I lied

"How?"

"We just fell out of love Lily, I don't know why."

"that's sad, I liked Niall."

"I liked him too." I mumbled quietly to myself.

-Niall's POV-

I was zipping up Paddy's coat when I looked up to see Miley, she was holding her sisters hand pulling her away from the school. I made eye contact with her before weakly smiling, her blue eyes flashed and she quickly turned round and walked off.

She hadn't changed too much since the last time we spoke, her long light hair slightly wavy, her eyes still a dark blue. She was still so beautiful that it made my heart race. I still love her, even if she doesn't love me back.

-Miley's POV-

What if Niall is there tomorrow? What if he tries to talk to me? All of these questions were rushing through my head that I didn't notice my concerned boyfriend Lewis trying to get my attention.

"Miley? Are you alright?" he asked worriedly

"What? Of yeah I'm fine!" I smiled

"you sure babe? You seemed pretty worried about something?"

"it's just work its pretty stressful with Max being off sick that's all." I lied.

"You sure? Because you know you I'm here for you if you need to talk." Lewis said while pulling me into his chest.

"I know and thank you." I said while wiggling closer to him, taking in his scent. He smelt of his aftershave which was nice, I remembered how Niall used to smell of chocolate or vanilla.

Stop thinking about Niall! I told myself before asking Lewis if he wanted to come with me to pick up Lily from school.

"Yeah of course I will!" he smiled.

"Thanks, I want you and Lily to get to know each other better." I knew I was sort of lying, I really wanted him there incase Niall was there again, I thought that maybe if Lewis was there with me Niall wont try to talk to me.
