Sonorous sobs were racking out of the blonde as he was standing - more like shaking overwhelmingly. He was furiously wiping away the constant flow of tears gliding down the side of his nose down to his cheek, his chest heaving heavily as he tried his absolute best to calm down. It didn't matter though, he was too emotional and caught in his stage of anguish to try to cease the noises he was making. He clenched his eyes shut, tightly bawling his fists that were resting on his cheeks.
Two feet away, stood Ashton, his boyfriend of ten months. His arms were crossed as he had a displeasing look on his face as to say it's all your fault. His tongue was poking the inside of his cheek as his facial expression and stance gave off the impression he was annoyed. No, more than annoyed. He was fuming, his teeth were clamped together as he watched the sight in front of him in bewilderment. This was incredibly stupid, he's crying over nothing.
Just an hour ago, the two were taking a nice, tranquil stroll in the park together, holding hands sweetly as they babbled on about past memories. They were fine exactly fifty-nine minutes ago and now, now they're disputing vehemently. If they were anything like wise adults who sorted their disagreements orderly, this argument wouldn't be happening. Unfortunately, they resemble two kids fighting over a toy more than respectable adolescents.
It was stupid, really. The pair was almost home when a truck with three attractive looking teenagers around the blonde's age slowed down as they noticed Luke. They wolf-whistled loudly, making it very obvious they found the innocent blonde cute as Ashton gave a death glare to them the entire time. They eventually drove off when the blue eyed boy tried his best to advert his gaze away from them. In embarrassment, Luke stared at the ground with brightly tinted cheeks. Ashton jumped to conclusions, believing his boyfriend enjoyed the attention being given to him. It wasn't only that; he felt like Luke didn't care for the brunette's engrossment in him any longer, as he was getting tired of having his boyfriend around.
The entire conspiracy was ludicrous, for the blonde doesn't handle situations like that very well. He panics and tries to steer clear of everyone's eyes on him. He's timid, bashful, and reserved all at once.
Ashton kept his calm during the rest of the walk home but once they stepped foot in the threshold of Ashton's apartment, the yelling began. He scared the blonde half to death when the first feebleminded remark was thrown his way angrily. The brunette was the type that once he got upset, he stayed upset for a long time until he is finally calmed down - which is difficult to do with someone who has a horrible temper. This was the very first time he had lashed out on his boyfriend, but it definitely was not the last.
"Can you stop fucking crying already!" Ashton seethed, growing tired of watching his boyfriend pathetically cry.
Luke opened his eyes, frowning at the fact that Ashton has the audacity to get upset over something that wasn't his doing and he has to stop crying. He doesn't comment on that though. Instead, he manages a sniffle, attempting to slow his raged breaths so he'd be able to speak more clearly and finally end his crying - because we don't want Ashton upset again.
"I-I'm so-sorry," He whimpered, inhaling a breath to remain placid, "I-I d-didn't know t-that was going to happen." Cue the waterworks. Damn his wimpy emotions.
If there's anything to know about dealing with a crying person, you shouldn't add on to it and make them even more weak than they were before. Their sobs increase and their panic worsens. Not everyone can control their emotions - in this case, Luke seems to have lost all control of his.
"Oh my god..." Ashton mumbles, bringing his hand to his forehead in frustration.
Without any further words, he rushes towards the door and grabs the keys to his car, leaving the blonde to be by himself. It's then, that Luke fully breaks down, no longer worried about being criticized of his actions by his boyfriend. He stumbles to the couch, his vision blurring by the amount of tears welling in his eyes. He suppresses what seems to be a broken laugh combined with a sob.
He begins to feel drowsy, resting his head against the end of the couch as he continues to cry in sorrow. Everything will be better when he wakes, he thinks.
Luke doesn't wake up until the booming sound of the door slamming shut startles him. He sits up, rubbing the dried crust away from his eyes. Ashton searches frantically for his boyfriend and upon seeing him on the couch, he sprints over to him.
The blonde's now puffy eyes were red and so was the skin underneath also. He looks tired, almost sleep deprived. His mouth was etched in a straight line, as his eyebrows furrowed in sadness.
"Luke, baby. I'm so sorry for what I did, you have to understand that I never meant to break out at you like that. It's-It's just I can't control my anger sometimes and it takes me a while to calm down. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me." Ashton pleads, his eyes softly staring at his boyfriend in hopes that he'll forgive him.
"It's okay," Luke whispers. "I was being ignorant and you were upset."
"No, Luke. That's not the case. You aren't ignorant. Those idiot guys didn't have the brains that a lovely boy such as yourself was already taken." He comments, taking Luke's hands in his and rubbing his thumbs over the back of the blonde's.
Luke smiled in response and looked down, suddenly becoming bashful.
"Hey, why don't you move in with me?" Ashton asked, causing Luke to look up.
"What?"
"I was just thinking that you should move in with me, it would be nice. You're always over here anyways."
Luke wouldn't have been so hesitant if it wasn't for the fact that he brings it up right after their argument, as if it was a way to get the blonde to forgive him. Pushing that thought in the back of mind, he thinks maybe he brought it up because he was thinking about asking him for a long time and just now got around to it. Either way, Luke agrees and it makes him happy noticing the way his boyfriend's face brightens when he says yes.
He wishes he could have realized it then, but he wasn't as mature and intelligent at that time. It's funny because all of these decisions, these choices, they always have an alternative to them. Maybe, if he took the latter option, he wouldn't be in the position he is in now but it's too late.
It's always too late.
