Obnoxious parties

“A party… What kind of party,” I said in disbelief. I should’ve known, I thought to myself, With Kelly she always does something spontaneous.

“A boy girl party Jamie,” Kelly said in reply. I bit my lip, thinking about boys.  I haven’t had a decent boy that liked me since I was 14, and now I am 16.  I started to shake my head.

“Come on Jamie! It won’t be that bad, you’ll have fun! Maybe even meet a guy,” Kelly exclaimed, and nudged me in the thigh. I let out a snort in reply and turned away from Kelly. Kelly turned me around and put her bottom lip out.

“Please Jamie, I’ll do anything! I just need my best friend there with me,” Kelly said.

“Alright,” I agreed. Kelly threw her arms around me and squeezed me tightly.  As soon as she let go, I switched my clothes to the skinny jeans and lacy top. Kelly will probably be making out with her boyfriend, Tyler, the whole time I thought to myself.

“Let’s go,” Kelly said.

We arrived at the party around 6 o’clock.  Mobs of boys and girls grinding on each other, loud obnoxious music played, and flashes of multiple lights surrounded us. Kelly was hooked on my arm and chattering up a storm in my ear. Even though she was talking to me, her eyes were searching for Tyler.  I rolled my eyes, and scanned the crowd of people trying to look for someone I knew.  My eyes fell upon a tan attractive looking boy. He had a hard square of a jaw, with soft curvy lips, sharp cheekbones, and bronze tossled hair.  His eyes were a smoldering light blue framed by long black eyelashes.  He was laughing at something, then looked up and met my eyes. I quickly ducked my head, scowling at myself. As if a boy like that would want someone as dull and plain like me.  I felt Kelly unhook her arm from me, and heard her squealing. Tyler was standing with a big grin on his face, and his arms open waiting for her. Tyler was a typical cute looking boy. He had brown hair that he spiked up, and brown eyes. He had a muscular body which was also tan. I watched as Kelly ran to him, and in a fluid motion he swept her up in his arms. He welcomed her with a series of kisses on her face, I looked away in envy.

I walked towards an empty seat and sat down. I pulled out my sad excuse for a phone and checked to see if my parents contacted me. One text from my mom saying sorry again, and a text from my brother Wyatt saying good riddance. I frowned; I don’t understand why he and I can’t just get along.  I sat back further in my seat, and sighed. I watched as I saw bunch of girls grinding on guys, and a bunch of guys with their hands on the girls’ waist.  I watched as Tyler and Kelly were huddled in corner; obviously in a deep make out of some sort. His hands were lower down her back than I expected. Kelly was always persistent about her boundaries, but I guess not tonight.

“Hello,” said a quiet deep voice. I jumped; startled and look around to see who it was. I had to hold my breath to keep from gasping, it was the tan boy. He looked even cuter up close. Mm, I like that I thought to myself.

“Hi,” I practically yelled with excitement.  I scowled at myself, why was I such a dork around cute guys.

“Why are you here by yourself,” He questioned me then flashed his pearly white teeth at me. I almost fell to his feet, and begged him to take me now; anywhere with him.

“My friend is off making out with her boyfriend,” I replied dully.

“Want to come with me,” he asked me. I looked around examining the crowd. I narrowed my eyes, why does this boy want me to come with him? Does he just want something from me? I shook my head in response. I knew these types of boys; they tell you sweet stuff then end up trying to get into your pants. My old boyfriend was like that, I shivered at the thought of him. The boy in front of me suddenly widened his eyes, and shook his head quickly before speaking.
