Leah went on through the day, and when it was time to leave school she stuck her headphones in quickly so no on had the time to bug her about homework help. She walked justly to the bookstore so she could pick up her new journal. As she walked in the door the familiar jingle bell rang.
"Well if it isn't my favorite customer!"
"Hey Jed!"
"Here to pick up your new book?"
"sure am!"
"Well let me go get it, it's in the back room"
Leah smiled and rested her elbows on the mahogany counter.
".....shit"
She heard a faint whisper from behind the mystery section. She pushed up on her toes to look around but she couldn't see anything. She slowly began to walk around the book shelf column, when-
"OH MY GOSH I'M SO SORRY"
Leah sat up on the patterned carpet rubbing her head.
"Leah? oh thank God"
"What?"
"It's me Jackson"
Leah moaned not being able to process what he had just said.
"Whyyyyyyyy"
"I'm sorry, it's just I love being here and If any of the giys from school saw me my special place would be ruined....ugh. and if Charlie found out"
This made Leah laugh and Jackson held out his hand and pulled her up.
"Oh, here...let me fix that"
Jackson detangled her hair gently with his fingers and he pushed the final piece behind her ear.
"There, back to perfection"
she smiled, "thanks"
"ha..well i gotta head home, please promise you won't tell anybody"
"I swear".
Then she watched him walk away and basically fall out of her fingers.
"Who was that"
"oh.gosh Jed you scared me"
"was that your boyfriend?"
Leah chuckled
"What?"
"nothing. do you have my book?"
"yeah" he handed her the same old leather backed journal and Leah took it and then headed home same as usual.

It was another day for Leah, well not exactly. After she went home from the bookstore she skyped the counselor to get some perspective on some things she should look into so she could be accepted into Yale. The lady was kind of mousy and told Leah that everything was perfect except for one thing......the arts. Leah had never done any extra curricular activities that required that kind of creativity standard. She talked to Hannah for like an hour on the phone about it and it was decided that Leah would do the musical. Just be a random extra in the background, as the lead usually went to Charlie like everything else she had wanted.
Leah had made it through the day and she was walking through the hall when Mr. Ball flagged her down. He motioned her into his classroom and she walked in unquestionably.
"Sup. Mr. B"
"It's your letter assignment"
"What about it?"
"Where's the emotion L?"
"What do you mean?"
"You wrote to your Grandma"
"And I love her" she laughed.
Mr. Ball smiled, "Leah, I want you to write another one,and you don't have to turn this one. Write to someone who doesn't know your feelings for them"
"Ugh! and who would that be"
"Jackson"
She blushed nervously, "Ha..what? Jackson, that's so cliche" she bit her lip.
"I see the way you look at him"
"Hush!"
"Alright, alright, go wherever you go now!...REMEMBER EMOTION!!"
"Will do Mr.B!" and she walked out the door and headed to the auditorium.
When she got to the auditorium it was almost empty, she assumed everyone would wait to be casted after Charlie, to not try and steal her spotlight. Well two problems, 1. Leah didn't care. and 2. It's not like Leah had the talent to steal any spotlight.
Charlie was center stage and was at the tail end of her song, which wasn't all that great. She bowed vainly and smiled her sarcastic little smile at Leah. When she passed her on the stairs to the stage, Charlie meaningly bumped into her.
"Hi, my name's Leah Brown and I'll be singing I am Not A Robot by Marina & the Diamonds"
*A/n this is where you listen to it on the side*
Leah hit the last note, and opened her eyes to see Charlie standing baffled and her mouth dropped open!
"OHOHOHO!!" said Mrs. Valetta, the director.
"Was that sufficient?"
"It was absolutely wonderful! please! come back tomorrow for callbacks!!"
"Sure, why not." and then she walked away but could still hear Charlie's screams and threats.
