Don't have a lot to say except hope you enjoy this chapter! It's now the longest one yet (I feel really silly for cutting chapters 2 and 3 in half when I first started writing this because it was over 7000 words LOL).
We do have some lovely fanart of Natsu and Zeref from commenter Chappy9712! Thank you so much Chappy! They also drew a wonderful young August which I will upload with the next chapter of Savior In the Clockwork (whenever I write it).
Hope you enjoy!

He had once again postponed deciding what to do about Alvarez. Every strategy he devised led to somewhere he did not like... but he had run out of time. The guild was growing restless. From his last conversation with Laxus, it sounded like his grandson was dangerously close to doing something reckless.
He sighed. If one of us is going to dive into the mouth of Hell... then all of us might as well.
He moved toward the door-
-and froze when his communication lacrima began to ring.
Seeing who was calling... Makarov's breath hitched. He swallowed, and answered. "Your Majesty?"
"Makarov," Toma's voice came through, noticeably brighter than it had been days earlier. "Alvarez has agreed to our terms!"
Makarov's voice caught. "...w-what?"
"They agreed to return Natsu, Lucy, and Mavis to Fairy Tail as part of the concessions! They'll arrive in Crocus with the Alvarez delegation within a week!"
Makarov had no words. Weeks of worry for Lucy and the First Master... and after holding Natsu for a year... Zeref was simply handing them over? Just like that?
Part of Makarov wanted to scoff and dismiss the idea.
But the other part...
If Zeref wanted to refuse, he could have done so, and they would have been powerless to disagree.
And so, he dared to hope.
"Your Majesty... this... this is wonderful news! I'm... I'm overwhelmed... thank you!"
"Of course, my friend. I hope I can count on your support in the upcoming negotiations."
