Yesung Imagine Titled "Be Yourself"
~Author's Point of View~
One day, you were in sweatpants and a black t-shirt headed for the first day of college, but was criticized for your taste in style. You were put down with harsh words, because of what you wore, and just the way you acted. You sat at the back corner of each classroom, observing how the popular people acted and dressed. Though you always sat in the back of the room, you felt a pair of eyes staring at you. The next day, you came in with tight skinny jeans, a white v-neck, and a denim jacket, with bracelets, make up, and earrings. You walked in what you'd say "style" along the hallways to class. People waved at you, started hanging around you, and making you feel like your existence is important. You took a seat in the very front of the class now. As you took notes from the board, you heard two girls whispering in the back of you about how you had too much accessories. You rolled your eyes, and tried to focus on the notes, but it bothered you a lot. In everything you wear, someone's criticizing you for it. You turned to the two girls, and asked in a somewhat rude way to shut up. They gave you a disgusted look, and you did the same. Again, you felt one and only one pair of eyes staring at you. Rumors went around about how rude you were. From the morning to the afternoon, your attitude towards someone changed. From feeling like you were a royal princess, you felt like you were equal with everyone. You smiled to everyone, and proved that you weren't that pushy and rude girl at the campus. After a week from now, you dyed your hair from brown to blonde. Make-up became a daily thing for you, and you woke up earlier everyday to make yourself look decent enough. People stopped criticizing you for your taste in style, but people had problems with your personality. You tried to change everything about you into someone who would be accepted. You received a text from YeSung, your childhood best friend, early in the morning the next day
Text: It's okay to just walk in a hoodie and sweats, and it's okay to not put on make up. It's perfectly fine if you just want to put on a white t-shirt and shorts. It's okay even if you don't feel like dressing up like a princess. Wear what you want, don't let someone decide for you. Are you even happy when you wear something you don't want to? Don't change yourself just because someone wants to judge you.
Through your first three classes, you were doing just fine with sweats and a t-shirt on. It felt a bit weird, but at the same comfortable. "Maybe I was thinking too much.. it doesn't matter what i wear.." you thought. You received a note in your second class the next day. It read, "(YourName), will you meet me on the second floor?"You grabbed your belongings with a smile, but it slowly turned down to a frown after hearing rumors about you in the hallways. People were criticizing you again for what you wore. You felt like screaming at them, because they always have something to say about you, whether if it's about your personality, the way you act, or the way you dress. Someone took your hands, and confronted to the group of people who gossiped about you.
"She can wear or do whatever she wants with herself, she's not yours, so don't act like you own her. Let her be her, and be yourself. Stop hating on someone because of what they wear. Will you be fine if I gossiped about how stupid you are, and that you should leave this world? You are who you, and you can't do anything about it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with having opinions, just keep it to yourself, unless you want me to start making rumors about you as well." Yesung snapped at them.
They all became quiet, and scurried off their classes."It's really up to you if you want to change along with the crowd, but I want you to know that no matter how much you change yourself, I love you for you. You change a lot, even your personality, but there's one thing about yourself that never changes, and that's the heart of caring for someone and how might they feel. That's why I want you to know that looks shouldn't matter. You already are perfectly amazing just the way you are. You don't need anymore useless accessories. Let yourself be the confidence in yourself, and not make up or your nails." Yesung said in a soft tone.
He gave you a hug, because he understands you're tired. You cried as your head leaned against his chest, but Yesung continuously encouraged that you cry if you needed to, because you don't have to worry about what someone else thinks about you. "People might think you're a cry baby, but you'll always be the girl I love and my princess, no matter what circumstances." He whispered.
~The End~Happy birthday Yesung!!
