As soon as they reached the sidewalk in front of Camila's house, the curious brunette wasn't able to control herself.

"Okay, where are we going? I'm dying of anticipation," Camila whined. Lauren only shook her head in answer. "Please Lauren," she cried desperately.

The green-eyed girl stayed mute as she walked.

"Pretty please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" Camila added as she batted her eyelashes very enthusiastically.

Lauren shook her head and chuckled. She stopped in her tracks, causing Camila to do the same, and turned to face her. "Camz, just bear with me, okay?"

"Fine," Camila sighed dramatically, "but this'll cost you. You can't buy my  silence with nothing."

"Okay then. What'd you have in mind?" Lauren asked with a raise of her eyebrow.

The younger brunette grinned as she hooked her fingers in the belt loops of Lauren's jeans and pulled the older girl closer in one swift motion.

"How about a kiss?" Camila suggested.

"A kiss?" Lauren smiled amusedly at the request. "Only one?"

"Well, it doesn't have to be just one. I'd be okay with two if you were."

Lauren chuckled and pressed her lips against Camila's, who instantly melted into the kiss.

It was completely chaste, just a simple touch of the lips. But that didn't matter to the brown-eyed girl; she had been more than willing to take what she could get.

Their mouths slowly disconnected, but only for a short period, before going in for the second smooch that was promised. Lauren began kissing Camila with such force, it drove the younger girl crazy.

Camila unhooked her fingers from the belt loops of Lauren's jeans, and repositioned her hands firmly on the green-eyed girl's waist. Lauren smiled widely, as Camila could tell by the shape her lips had taken.

A sudden strange feeling filled Camila's chest and struck every nerve ending, making her whole body tingle. It hit the girl like a brick; her lungs ceased function for a full three seconds, but Camila wouldn't stop- couldn't stop- moving her lips dedicatedly against Lauren's.

She didn't want this moment to ever have an end, so even the fact that her brain was deprived of oxygen didn't matter much.

But of course, against Camila's desires, the contact did indeed come to an end. Lauren pulled back with a goofy grin, which automatically gave Camila the same exact look on her face.

"God, you're amazing," Camila spoke, her voice so serious that the older brunette only laughed nervously.

"Maybe, but no one could ever out-shine you. My shining star," Lauren smiled softly as she tucked a stray hair behind Camila's ear.

"I'm so happy I have a Lauren in my life," Camila announced, earning an appreciative giggle from her girlfriend. "Seriously, it's pure luck that we had both decided on going to that movie theater the same night, and watch the same movie.

"What if you'd chosen to watch a different movie, or to not go to the movie theater at all? What if all of the girls were busy that night and couldn't go with me? I probably wouldn't have gone to see a movie alone. What if I hadn't noticed you in line?"

"The what ifs don't matter Camz. Those two words are almost always used together when talking about the past. Which is something you can't change. So thinking about all of those different scenarios isn't going to change anything. Not that I believe anything needs changing."
