Anatomy. The most boring class of life.
I could not wrap my head around the lesson the teacher was trying to pack into our brains. On top of that, the sun was gloriously taunting us. Streaming in though the windows in the form of pure warmth, joy, and happiness. Everything Mr. DeGnats lacked.
I looked around and wittnessed a few of my fellow classmates falling victim to the contaigous sleep disease that was drugging everyone in the room.
Unaware, I felt my head nestling into my arms and before I realized it, I was falling away from the concious world. Being brought back for a second by a change in the pitch of The Gnats voice, only to drift away again when I registered what he'd said wasn't important.
BZZZZ BZZZZ
My head flew off the table when my phone vibrated. I had forgotten for millisecond that I had turned my phone on vibrate and had a miniheart attack that my phone would shatter the almost-din. Interrupting our professors' oh-so-important lecture.
Thankfully, it stopped buzzing and nobody else heard it. Unfortunately, The Gnat saw my sudden movement.
"Felicity, did you want to say somthing?" He spun his tiny whithered frame around to face me from his steady pacing. Slapping his pointer stick in his hand and peering at me over the rim of his bifocals.
"Oh, no. I just found..." I scanned the board quickly. "Your bone stucture diagram very riveting."
A round of snickers and chuckles made its way around the class. Obviously "riveting" was not the word everyone else would have used to describe it.
Mr. DeGnat gave his intricately labeled diagram the once-over, and nodded. Apparently in agreement with me, and dropped back into his lecture.
I mentally congratulated myself for avoiding an unanswerable question and gave myself a minute of "paying attention" (so as not to look suspicious) before I checked my phone. I opened it and my breathing hitched when I read the name at the top of the message. Suddenly I was very, very awake.

Hey there! Beautiful day isn't it? Ill pick you up after you're out of school :)
I sat there. Just reading the message over and over again. Not sure what the proper response was. Another text rolled in from him and I hungerly opened it, eager for my eyes to consume every word. Like if I didn't read it right away I would die! Okay- way over reaction but you get the point. My heart was racing.

*to go to the park and play some football.
My thumb circled over the keypad forever as I tried to think of somthing to say. I settled on:
Okay!
Not even bothering to mention that I had my own car and could drive myself. But I figured it would be rude to turn down an offer!
He sent me back a smiley face and I didn't know what to reply. I sat thinking about all the different conversations to start, but didn't send a single one in the last twenty minutes of class. When the final bell rang I was out the door like a lighting bolt faster than you could say "psyched" to drop every thing off in my locker.
So many things were running through my mind I couldn't keep up, but I couldn't dismiss anything. I fast-walked, trying to be non-chalant, to the front of the school.
