Tiger Lilling's POV:

I shuffled over to Defense Against The Dark Arts my favorite class in the whole wide wizarding world!!! I guess that was a little exaggerated, might I add. It felt kind of strange being in Hogwarts and not being British. Most people had accents, but now Hogwarts extended more hands to others and here I was.

I pushed open the door and peeked into the room. No one was there, I got there early again! I proudly walked to my seat in the middle of the class (I'm not that much if a nerd to sit in the front!)

When everyone was situated, the teacher began.

"Now, class. Today we are learning our... Patronus!" The teacher smiled and instructed us all to stand up. I felt a lump in my throat and dizzy in my head. I'd always wanted to do this... but now that I was really going to, I felt nervous.

The teacher began with the front of the room, going left to right. I wanted to inch backwards and luckily that was an option.

A student I didn't recognize tapped my shoulder and we switched seats, me being another row behind, and one seat after the middle. I felt a little better, until I saw the other Patronus's.

Birds, fish, otters, goats, horses, a doe...

Whoever got the die but be feeling proud because they got the closest thing to Harry Potter's stag, which I don't think anyone has gotten since he lived.

The person next to me walked to the front of the classroom to present her Patronus. I recognized her as Mali Irwnis and couldn't believe I was so nervous not to notice her. She walked up and took a long, deep breath.

Then she moved her wand in the Patronus like motion and said with all her heart, "EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

Out of her wand came the blue, silver mist that streaked to form a graceful dove that flew over everyone's head. Some students laughed in awe because it really was beautiful.

My turn.

"Tiger, don't be shy."

Gosh that sounded so mean. I heard a few snickers. I had been getting that a lot, being in Slytherin. We weren't all bad!

I walked up nervously, my 7 1/2 Unicorn Tail Wand clutched in my hand and it felt sticky under my rule.

Finally I was standing in front of the class, not being ready, but knowing it was time.

"E-Expecto Patronum!" I tried, my sound quivering as if it would die.

Giggles erupted from the class and I tried again under the encouraging smile of the Teacher.

"Expecto Patro-" I caught some funny faces being made at me, "num..." A blue, silver mist just sputtered out in a tiny little line and disappeared.

"One more time Tiger. You can do it!" The Teacher further encouraged.

Almost the whole class, except Mali, might I add, was laughing at me and the Teacher gave them all glares. They couldn't stop, what with my name being so funny put in certain ways, and me being in Slytherin.

I had enough.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!" I screamed and my wand came to life.

The mist shot out but stronger, forming a pacing being, that was certainly big. The class stopped and looked at the Patronum, still forming as if making its appearance had to be dramatic. I was panting a little and the animal finally formed.

It's tail swished back and forth and it seemed to be growling at the class.

It was a Tiger.

Tiger... got a Tiger.

"Oh... my... Class you have just witnessed the first ever Tiger Patronus!"

I confidently strode to my seat, the tiger following as it faded away, and sat down.

Finally a smile was plastered on my face instead of a tear.
