Chapter 1

Ella POV
I sat on the front porch waiting for the mailman to come. Tapping my foot, I checked my watch face. It read "12:58". 2 more minutes. I sighed and started to hum, eager for time to pass. The letter that was going to come in the mail today was going to change my life.

My name is Ella. I'm 14 years old and most of my life has been miserable. My mother died from breast cancer when I was 3. My father remarried and in came my stepmother and stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella. The next 5 years were fine. My father signed me up for voice lessons and ballet. He passed away when I was 12 during a car accident. After his death, my stepmother ruined my life. She pulled me out of Disney Middle School and put me in the crappy public school near our house for all of 8th grade, claiming that she didn't want to waste money on my education. She even attempted to pull me out of voice lessons, and forced me to do the household chores. She called me Cinder-Ella, like I was her personal maid. When I heard Disney Academy, the prestigious high school in the section of Orlando dubbed as Disney World, was offering scholarships, I pounced on the opportunity, eager to escape my torture. Lady Tremaine wasn't pleased, but when I told her it would cost her anything she finally caved.

I signed up for Disney Academy on a voice scholarship. I had to take an test in each academic subject(Math, English, etc.) as well as have a vocal audition.The mail today would bring the results of my audition and tests.

I continued to tap my foot as the mailman drove up our street. I sprinted up to the mailbox and grabbed a large shiny envelope. On the envelope was a mouse silhouette, the silhouette of Dr. Mickey. He, along with Dr. Disney and Mr. Donald, administered Disney Academy.

I tore the envelope open and dumped its contents out.

Dear Ella Charming,

You have been accepted on a full scholarship to Disney Academy for Freshman Year. Attached is your dorm assignment, schedule, and school handbook.

Dorm 21: Ella Charming
Roommates: Tiana Maldonia, Jasmine Sultan and Snow White

Schedule:
Period 1: World History-Ms. Athena
Period 2: AP Algebra 2- Ms. Fauna
Period 3: English- Ms. Kingsley
Period 4: PE- Mr. Parr
Period 5: Lunch
Period 6: Biology- Ms. Arista
Period 7: Music(Elective Choice)- Mr Sebastian
Period 8: Study Hall

We wish you the best of luck for this school year. Supply lists are on our website and should be purchase before September 1st- the first day of school.
