3- Penny

Too familiar.... I gulped, a rush of panic surged my body. I didn't know what to do, so in panic I looked at the ground and hurried Nova further down the street. Nova stopped to sniff, there was no way I could avoid contact with him... "Penny? Penny, wait up!" Henry shouted my body was immobilized with shock; I looked at him and just... smiled. That's all I was physically able to do. Henry smiled back, his much more beaming and beautiful than mine. You see, I have a brace. I don't like smiling properly, when I do its restricted, in order to hide my teeth. His eyes looked more golden rather than brown, in this light. Today, he was looking more attractive. It might have been the way his hair was flopping in the wind or his skinny black jeans. Gloria came over and greeted Nova, and they played by my side. He followed after her; "Hey..." he said awkwardly "listen, I have something to ask you" I panicked even more, and just replied "Yeah..?" What sort of answer is that?!

"Well, penny... I-I really like you, you're amazingly beautiful, so intelligent and just... delightful!" I didn't know exactly how to react. So again, I just smiled. "So, I suppose, what I trying to say is..." Henry smiled hopefully "...will you do me the honour of being my date to prom" I gasped; I didn't expect this... at all. Still, I couldn't bring myself to speak; I had a lump in my throat. After a pause, I replied... "Henry! I will!"

Without thinking I wrapped my arms around him and held myself there, he held me securely. I rested my head on his chest; his heart was pounding almost as much as mine was. I welcomed his affection...
