It's been about a month since Eren took me in. He's a brat, but a nice one. Also an incredibly attractive one. Not that I'd ever say that out loud.

I'm in a lot better shape now. My ribs aren't sticking out as much as they were before and all that's left of the cuts are scars. Oh, the scars. They littered my whole body, but it isn't like I didn't at least half deserve them. Growing up in an illegal Underground trafficking business didn't allow me to learn proper manners, even if my mother tried her hardest to make me into a good person. It was so hard, watching them do the things they did to her. Knowing I was an accident. Knowing I was the reason they did such terrible things to her. Especially watching him beat her to her last breath, in which was spent with a sad smile at me. He didn't mean to kill her, though it didn't matter. The death of a neko at a human's hands isn't even considered murder. We don't matter to anyone, we're known as pets. My mother was a luccretia, a purebreed. You could tell by the fact that her white ears and tail contrasted completely against her long black hair. I ruined her, I'm the reason she was sent to the Undergrounds. She was raped, and I was the result. The royal family, her owners, didn't want someone who was pregnant with a monstrosity like me. They didn't want a mixbreed. I don't know who my father is, all I know is he was a kind man with brown hair, blue eyes, and black ears with a orange-ish tail. She knew him. According to what she told me, they were good friends. Sometimes she would cry, and then someone would hit her. They'd say she was too pretty to cry, that she was worth too much money to cry. It didn't matter who was in ownership of us, they'd all say the same exact things. Even him.

Kenny said he loved my mother. If he did, it was a strange way of loving. It was more of an obsession. He was like a dog with a bone. He was incredibly possessive and kept us on a literal leash.

Sadly she came to an untimely end. Due to the malnourishment and how horribly they treated us, she died. Kenny went off the deep end one night when my mother refused him. He lashed out and she was killed. I was near the brink of death myself. However, I met some other people who were completely willing to help me out. Farlan and Isabel. They were amazing people. We would travel around the Underground looking for means of escape, dodging people trying to capture us. Though we were careful, we couldn't stay out long. When the streetlights turned off for curfew, all hell would break loose. That was the perfect time for us to sneak out. Even with the thugs roaming around, we had natural born agility. That didn't get us far.

We made it to the stairs. Our freedom. Poor Isabel and Farlan didn't get to see the sun. Military Police from above ground did their routine check and I was the only one who made it. I told them to leave before me. They didn't listen. Farlan pushed me into a dark corner by the stairs, from where I watched them get murdered in ten seconds flat. I ran. Nobody caught me, with a weak source of light and my small frame they didn't even see me. That leads up to when Eren found me.

I hadn't even noticed the tears streaming down my cheeks until I felt a weight next to my spot on the couch. I looked up and saw gorgeous green eyes.

"You okay?" He asked, concern flooding his features. He put his arm around my shoulders and I leaned into his embrace.

"I'm fine." I closed my eyes, resting my head on his chest.

"Hey Eren?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you."
