Finding your way around Blackwell was like running through a maze (well...inside at least). Once I got out of the dorms, the sun shined in my face blinding me completely. Because I'm such an idiot/dork/failure, I fell over. There goes my luck. And just so happens, Victoria and her "squad" was able to see that.
"Aww, does Maxine need to get a band aid for her boo-boo?" Victoria said in a sarcastic voice. Her group of mean girls giggled to what she just said. "Aww, does Victor need a piece of duct tape for her mouth?" I answered back. The group stopped giggling and just turned around and walked away. "Just what I thought.." I whispered to myself.
I looked at my watch, 4:45. Shit, need to run. It's kind of always been a competition between me and Finn to see who can get to our "meeting spots" the fastest. I'm not gonna lose this time, not today.
I hated running, absolutely hated it, unless I absolutely had to. Once I reached the library, I saw Finn leaning against a tree on his phone. Fuck. A bunch of disappointment rained down on me. He saw me and smiled. I gave him this scowl and he just laughed. "I beat you again, yes," he said while doing this weird hand motion. Finn was always awkward. That's the reason why were friends. He is sweet, friendly, and a shameless nerd. I can also tell he has a huge crush on me. I still don't know what to think of the dude. I don't really see ourselves as a couple after being friends for so long. His sense of style also shows the geek that he really is with his brown curly hair.
"Alright, what are your plans this time," I said, knowing how crazily stupid he is. "Oh nothing, maybe we'll mess with the drunk librarian as always but that kinda depends," he responded back with a huge grin on his face. Oh great. Here we go again.
We entered the library and the cool air kindly wisps on my face. We searched around for Carrie, the "always-drunk-librarian". I mean, like everyone knows that she isn't drinking water in that water bottle of hers. One student even went over the front desk with a straw with her not looking and drunk from her cup. He said it was straight up vodka. How did he even know what vodka tastes like, I don't even know.
We found her sitting behind the front desk reading "50 Shades of Gray". My gosh, can she get even more corny or "typical"? Finn whispered," You distract her while I'll do my work". I facepalmed but made the stupid decision to agree. I just now remembered that I had an over due book and took that out of my backpack. I went up to the counter and held up the book. Carrie looked up and quickly realized that my book was overdue. She sighed," You irresponsible students. This book was due like 3 weeks ago!". "Shhh! We're a library!", I whispered back. She gave me this evil scowl and I just smiled.
She got up from her chair and walked over to the check out station. In the corner of my eye, I saw Finn put up some kind of sign in front of the desk. Oh great. After the librarian checked in the book with her laser thingy, she turned back around and walked back to her desk. I saw the sign that Finn put up. It said,"I'm a drunk, hot mess". I giggled. She sat back down and said,"Now leave, I can't stand you kids"."Okay, I'm perfectly fine with that", I said smiling. I walked toward the door and felt Finn's hand touch my shoulder."see you later Ms. Lockhart" Finn said. I didn't hear a response. We walked out the library laughing our asses off.
"Great one." I said in kind if sarcastic voice. "Hey! I actually wanted to do that for a long time", Finn responded. "Whatever" I just got a text message. It was from Chloe stating,"Help"Oooo, cliffhanger...
