Not a very exciting chapter guys sorry... just developing George's character a bit more. I'll post a new more exciting chapter soon.
I usually loved human biology but I just didn't feel it today. Julia, George, Paul and I all sat in the middle row of desks, Julia and Paul on either side of me. George was staring at Paul and made no effort to disguise it. He leaned fully over his desk so he could stare past Julia. I hoped he wasn't getting the bus with Paul and I. He seemed like a nice kid but I just couldn't figure him out. Suddenly a folded piece of paper slid onto my desk. I assumed it was Julia until I realised the handwriting was different.
Can you get Julia to pass this to George? Thanks. Xxx
He was looking at me and I subtlety nodded. I gave it to Julia who looked confused until I nodded at George. She passed it to him and he began reading it, Paul staring at him all the while. He gave Paul a look as if to say "I know" then he scrunched up the paper and put it in his pocket.
"There a problem George?" Edith stared at him, her hands on her hips.
"No lovely Edith," Paul jumped in before George could open his mouth. "No problems here."
"I'm sure he has a tongue lovely Paul." Edith laughed before turning to George again, somewhat sympathetic for the baby of the class. "Are you okay George?"
"Yes miss." George looked down at his desk.
"Good." Edith turned back to the board and continued her drawing of the reproductive system.
Julia and I glared at each other, half confused half in awe at George's sweetness.
The rest of the class went by slowly. George seemed to pick up a bit and we got to know the real him. When were labelling parts of the reproductive system he kept laughing and he was really letting his young spirit come out. He was only a little younger than Paul but it felt like a lot more at this age. George laughed and Paul kept rolling his eyes jokingly. I loved their banter and I was starting to think maybe George and I could actually be friends. Even Edith was loving it. Eventually, the class came to an end and the four of us packed up, ready to go to our next class.
"Who's ready to read about some vampire with Mr Fun?" George pretended to be excited. I explained that Dracula was my favourite book and George just stood looking guilty even though I laughed it off. We took our seats at the back of the class, Paul and George looked really bored but Julia and I couldn't get our things out quick enough.
I couldn't concentrate on Dracula and I think it was obvious. Halfway into the lesson a note slid on my desk. I looked to my left to see Paul concentrating on his work and then to my right to see Julia gesturing to me to unfold the A4. I did so.
What's going on in that beautiful head of yours? SJ x
I began to scribble back.

I was a bad liar but I knew Julia could tell something was up by my face.

I laughed a little and Hugh immediately looked up from his book and groaned. He didn't much words in his vocabulary.
"Sorry Mr Hugh." George spoke up in Hugh's slow, boring, dreary tone of the voice, making everyone laugh except Paul and of course Hugh who knew it was obviously an accurate impression of him.
"Harrison!" He stood up from his desk, obviously angry. "Get outside and stay there till the end of the period then go to the headmaster for six of the best!"
"Haha period." George said quietly but loud enough for us all to hear.
We all laughed at him, except Paul, and Hugh heard, his face red with rage.
"A bit harsh..." Paul said under his breath and Hugh with his super hearing heard.
Paul was always looking out for George and trying to get him to do the right thing. Paul was unusually well behaved for a teddyboy. Maybe he wasn't the stereotype? Paul was just George's big brother.
"Doyle, Matthews, McCartney!" Hugh shouted so fast and with so much rage it was difficult to make out what he was saying. "Would you three like the same?"
I was embarrassed, shocked and ashamed of myself. I felt like all the people in school I hated. I couldn't speak. I looked at Julia who was stuttering. When she was in trouble she couldn't be her confident and cocky self.
"No sir." Paul spoke up for us and gave me a reassuring smile. He hadn't known me long but he could tell when I was stressed.
Hugh nodded and George walked outside the room. George was just your typical teddyboy.
The rest of the class went by painfully slow. I kept staring at the clock. Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours. After what felt like ages the bell rang. We began to pack and for once, I was the one packing very fast. I just wanted to get out of college and back to Paul's house. It was time for our big date...
