Young and full of life was the female child with the same moonbeam hair as her brother's. She ran and danced around the playground without a care under the summer sun. Her laughs chimed like a beautiful musical piece to her older brother, Makishima Shogo.

But unlike the other children of her age group, she was not naive. She has seen how violent people could be, how simple-minded the people thinks, and how cruel the Sibyl System and the world could be. She was perturbed as to why all the children she met were simpletons.

She was smarter than the average child of age five. She'd try to engage in a conversation but they can't catch up or understand. She looked like a harmless little fairy which attracted other children to her but they can't possibly understand her because they don't even try.

"--zu.. Yuzu ." Her brother snapped her out of her thinking. She didn't even know when she has seized from mobilization.

Her brother shook his head at her in dismay but a small smile graced his lips in mild amusement. Yuzu looked up at his brother and smiled fondly back at him. Happiness bubbled up inside the older Makishima. She was the only one to make him feel this way, ever since their parents died.

They saw how their parents died as they hid inside their cabinet. It was still engraved vividly in their young minds. They remember how their parents' blood felt as it splattered on their face, the vibration of their agonizing screams and the sickening squishes in their ears, and how everything they saw stuck on replay in their heads.

Still, even through all of that they weren't the least bit fazed and they were still unseperable.

They knew why their parents died but they didn't know why they should lament over the dead. They didn't see their parents as something of a necessity so they didn't have to harbor too much strong feelings towards them. They only saw each other as the only necessary bond.

She held onto his brother's hand firmly as they arrived to school. They knew they need to part as their education levels are different due to their age. Her brother squeezed her hand to reassure her.

He leaned down to his little sister's height as they got to Yuzu's room and said, "I'll come pick you up later. Now, be a good girl and wait for me, okay?" She nodded in response. Her brother ruffled her hair and left.

Although she was smarter, she was a child that is still dependent. She trembled slightly as she slid the door open. She knows what was to happen but she was uncertain as to what their reaction will be. She gulped in the lump in her throat that she didn't know was there.

"Ah! Makishima Yuzu, right? Have a seat." Her raven haired teacher called out to her.

She nodded and immediately sat at the furthermost back of the room by the window. She held an emotionless demeanor. How could she smile? She knew nobody and she didn't have the slightest interest in being chummy with anybody other than his brother.

Dismissal came early and the thought of being with her brother immediately delighted her. She waited patiently but no Makishima Shogo came to the halls she was waiting on.

She tried to distract herself. She mustn't even try to think anything ominous from this is what she kept on telling herself as she done things to keep her mind off his beloved brother. She cleaned their classroom till sparkling clean, completed reading a short novel, and played dominoes but nay. No Makishima Shogo was anywhere in sight. It made her feel uneasy. She started to fret. What will she do if something happened to her brother? She can't afford to lose her brother.

She couldn't hold it back anymore. The voice in her head saying that something is wrong roared louder than ever. She quickly sat up and went out of their classroom. She ran around frantically shouting, "Nii-sama! Nii-sama!" Her tears clung to the edge of her eyes, threatening to fall.
