3rd Person POV
The ninja students were going to have target practice with their kunai and other projectile weapons. Akane was somehow enthusiastic about the lesson for that day because her Kakashi-tou-sama bought her new weapons (courtesy of the Sandaime's financial funds).
She had her elbow on top of her knees and her head rested on her palm while fighting off the sleep threatening to lure her in. Everything was boring her to death by some moments after seeing their current predicament. Their targets were too near and it wasn't even moving. 'How are they supposed to aim at escaping targets?'
They might somehow have good aim. Well, some of them only; some were dreadfully awful. Their throw wasn't even strong that it could destroy the wooden targets. She sighed mentally. Why is she getting so irritated?
They were going on and on. It reached Sakura's turn. She huffed in some air and threw her kunai with pathetic grace. Her stance was sloppy and shaky. Her arms looked like it was too strained. It was what Akane would say from her point of view.
Thud!
It hit the target in the middle. The pinkette jumped and cheered. She looked at the poor raven headed Uchiha and boasted about her "achievement".
"Sasuke-kun! I hit it in the middle!"
Akane scoffed. The pinkette turned to her and threw her a nasty glare. Akane didn't really meant for the pinkette to hear that. "I bet you're just acting like that because you're bitter that you can't hit a target on the spot." The pinkette huffed.
The ravenette closed her eyes and sighed. She carelessly slid three kunai in between her fingers. Without shifting from her lazy position, she simply flicked her wrist. She remembered vividly the cold feeling of the metal as it left the tips of her fingers.
Thud!
It hit the spot but it didn't stop with only that. It cracked a bit before fully crashing down in pieces.
She sighed in exasperation. She wasn't even trying in the least bit.
The ravenette stood up about to leave class. She looked at the pinkette with an apologetic face. "I'm only acting like this because I'm disappointed."
Everyone watched her as she left. Her head was hung low. With her hands in her pockets, she walked slow.
Sakura was glum. She was proven wrong and worst is in front of her beloved Sasuke-kun. Akane didn't even try so hard to beat her. The pinkette was disappointed too, disappointed in herself.
Iruka was amused and shocked. A newcomer is excelling too fast. Deep inside, he knew what he had to do. He knew that he should report this to the Sandaime. After thinking it through, he went on with his classes as if nothing happened.
She was not usually like this. The ravenette was confused as to why she was acting like a prissy teenager? She knew that she was supposed to be bubbly and jumping from the ceiling and the walls.
When she went back to her current home, she curled up in the couch and sulked a bit. She then thought maybe she needed to have a little shut eye. Maybe when she wakes up, she will back to being herself again.
Maybe.
Iruka went to the Sandaime to consult what happened earlier. Their wood for their targets are not that feeble. He doesn't know how much strength their new ravenette student has. He entered the Sandaime's room and bowed in respect.
As a professional, he went straight off to business. "Hokage-sama, the newcomer, Kashitana Akane, is excelling remarkably well but she seems like she isn't showing the full extent of her abilities."
