Yn froze when those words left his lips. Her heart seemed to skip a beat, the air in her lungs caught midway. She hadn’t expected that — not here, not now. The weight of his confession came out of nowhere, crashing into her like a tidal wave she hadn’t braced herself for.
Taehyung himself looked momentarily startled, as if even he hadn’t planned to let the words escape. His brows furrowed ever so slightly, his lips pressing into a line before curving into a strained smile.
"Did I put too much pressure on you? I’m sorry..." he said lightly, almost with a laugh, the kind of laugh that tried to smooth over cracks that couldn’t really be mended. His tone carried a teasing lilt, but his eyes betrayed him — dark, earnest, filled with a vulnerability so rarely seen in him.
Then, as quickly as the humor flickered, it died. His expression shifted, sharpening into something raw and serious. His gaze held hers like chains, unrelenting and intense. "But those words I just said… they weren’t a slip. They weren’t exaggeration. They’re the truth from the bottom of my heart." His voice was steady now, resonant with conviction. "They will not change… not today, not tomorrow… not ever."
Her pulse thundered in her ears.
"Kimeron Yn," he whispered her name like an oath, heavy with both reverence and possession. "I will wait for you… no matter how long it takes. I will not give up. No matter what stands between us, no matter how impossible it seems… I will not let go."
In that instant, he was both terrifying and beautiful. Vulnerable and unguarded, yes, but still carrying that same commanding presence — as if his longing, his despair, his very obsession had the power to bind her to him tighter than chains ever could.
Yn’s lips parted but no words came out. She didn’t know what to say — didn’t know if she should push him away or reach for him. The silence between them was thick, burning with things unspoken.
And then, without waiting for her answer, Taehyung stood. His movements were slow but deliberate, like a man who had made up his mind long before this moment.
For one fleeting second, he looked down at her with eyes that promised a storm — devotion, obsession, love, and madness all tangled together. Then he turned and began to walk away, leaving Yn trembling in the echo of his words.
His words lingered in the air, heavy and suffocating. Yn felt a strange mixture of fear, warmth, and awe swirl inside her. She realized that the man before her — the strong, unyielding, sometimes ruthless man — was capable of feelings so deep, so desperate, that even the most beautiful promises of the future paled in comparison to the intensity of his present.
Taehyung had barely taken a few steps when Yn’s voice — soft yet clear — drifted from behind him. “I will also do my best to figure this thing between us out. When the time is right, I will give you an answer.”
The words froze him mid-step. For a moment, his brain couldn’t even register what he had just heard. It was as if time itself stopped, the air thinning between them. Then he turned sharply, his movements fast and instinctive, almost desperate. His eyes found her instantly — and in that instant, all the shadows that lingered within them melted away, replaced by a light so pure and unrestrained it could rival the sun.
