Gasping her eyes shot open, sitting up she attempted to catch her breath, hands wiping away stray tears. This was why she didn't sleep..

Looking beside her she locked her eyes on the sleek grey iPhone, picking it up she hit the power button. She knew it was past six, she could tell by the fact the sun was up, however she didn't think it would be eleven twenty. She hadn't slept that long since she was a child, night mares or not.

Going onto the phone she couldn't help but see a missed message, she decided to just click on it to see who it was.

jack; state! wanna go somewhere today? i'm bored :(

The message for some reason made her somewhat happy, someone wanted to hang out with her and do something other than partying. Texting him back that she would be ready in a half an hour and that she would meet him at the diner she set off to get ready.

Taking a quick shower, putting on a pair of shorts, a band t-shirt she brushed her teeth. Lacing up her black Vans she grabbed her jeep keys and ran down stairs.

Making her way out the door she heard her mothers yell, ignoring it she ran a bit faster, jumping into the jeep, turning the key and slamming the car into reverse. Driving away from her mother who stood on the front porch, glen behind her.

Halfway down the road she heard her phone go off, most likely her mom. Ignoring it she blasted the music. Nodding her head at the song.

Tapping her fingers on the wheel, she drove into the diner parking lot, spotting jacks shitty car parked in it's normal spot. Pulling up beside him, in her spot she rolled down the window, "get in loser."

His laugh could be heard as he climbed out of the small car, "why do we always take your car?" He questioned as she pulled back out of the parking lot.

"Because we don't need to worry about my car breaking down," she answered, causing him to gasp loudly, "what ever do you mean? Linda could totally do anything this shitty Jeep could do!"

It was her time to gasp at his comment, hitting him, "don't talk that way about my baby," the two looked at each other before Jack bursted out laughing.

"Where are we going state?" He questioned her as she drove in a random direction, "that's not my name," she wined, "and you'll find out in about two seconds."

Pulling into the parking lot of the convenience store he laughed, "damn girl, you're expensive! I don't know if my bank card can afford this!"

Shaking her head she climbed out of the car, walking inside. Mountain dew and sour patch kids happened to be the only thing on her mind as she did her normal routine through the dirty, twenty four hour convenience store.

Finding the stuff she wanted she walked to the front, handing over the fourteen dollars and some odd cents to the cashier that looked like he hated his job.

"State wheres the pizza?" she heard Jack call out. Stifling a laugh she grabbed her stuff off the counter, "he does realize we don't sell pizza right?" The boy at the cash asked her, laughing a bit as well.

"If he doesn't yet, he soon will," she nodded at him before turning around to some what face the direction Jack's voice came from, "no pizza here Jack!" She called out, walking towards the door.

"Well thats a tragedy! We must find pizza!" He shouted from behind her, running towards the jeep.

She climbed in the drivers seat, throwing the king size bag of sour patch kids and two litre mountain dew bottle on the back seat, "lets go get pizza," she directed her sentence to the boy beside her who cheered in response.

Whenever she hung out with jack he made her feel normal, like she wasn't some freak who smoked cigarettes at three am on the edge of a cliff. However as normal as she felt when she was with him she knew it wasn't her normal.

"State your phone won't stop buzzing," Jack pointed out the phone that was buzzing about in the cup holder. Shocked that she didn't notice she picked it up.

mum; please come home

mum; we need to talk to you

glen the asshole; get home now

3 missed calls from; mum

1 missed call from; glen the asshole

Ignoring glen she answered her mum, saying she would be home later and was hanging out with Jack for now.

"Parents want you home?" Jack questioned, knowing very well how her mum and Glen could be, "yep, they won't leave me alone ever," she groaned.

Jack nodded, "move out," he told her as they pulled into a pizza hut parking lot, "it's not that easy, where do I go?" She groaned at the inconvenience.

"Move in with me then, it would be fun," she stared at Jack for a second, "you would let me move in with you?" She asked, extremely shocked.

He shook his head with a small smile, "the apartments too big and it would be fun to have a room mate." She had visited jacks apartment a few times and it was massive, she didn't understand how he had afforded it as they worked the same job but it didn't matter as it wasn't her business.

"I'll think about it," she smiled before stepping out of the jeep and walking towards the doors of the pizza hut, greasy food and opportunity hung in the air as her life was finally starting to look up.
