Chspter 16 Y/n and Gems Mini story

Today we open up to Y/n's house. There's a knock at the door and when the boy opens it we see the gems all standing there.

Y/n: "Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl? What are you three doing here?"

Garnet: "Steven's gone missing"

Y/n: "Huh?"

Pearl: "We checked all his favorite places. Funland, that fry place the big doughnut!"

Y/n starts to snicker a bit at her growing panic until it turned into a full on laugh. This getting the gems attention.

Amethyst: "I don't get it, what's so funny?"

Y/n: "Sorry I shouldn't laugh. Steven is at the doctors. Mom found out that Greg never took him for a checkup and got a little mad. She went with them to make sure everything goes well"

Pearl: embarrassed "O-oh..."

Y/n: laughs "I hope you guys weren't too worried. Were you just wondering where he was or?"

Amethyst: "We're going on a mission. Could be dangerous, you wanna come?"

Y/n: "Uh... Sure I guess"

Pearl: "No!"

Amethyst: "Why? He's gone on missions with us without Steven before"

Pearl: "This mission is especially dangerous. We need to make it to a hidden chamber at the bottom of a bottomless chasm. But before that we need to pass through the freezing plains and boiling ocean!"

Y/n: "I think I'll be fine. I'm lava proof so boiling water seems like a step down. Also ice power make ice terrain seem not as cold. And I don't think a bottomless chasm is bottomless if we need to reach the bottom"

Garnet: "He has some good points"

Pearl: "I... but..." stammers and groans "Okay, but if things get to dangerous you are to turn back immediately!"

Y/n: "No promises~"

We then cut to a warp pad where the gems and Y/n warp in. Before them is an ocean that is boiling like a pot of water.

Garnet: "First place, boiling ocean."

Amethyst: "Aw yeah! Cannon ball!"

She goes to jump in only to be held back by Pearl.

Pearl: "Careful, this water would burn the skin off Y/n's body"

Garnet: "He'll be fine. Y/n, you know what to do. Just like we practiced"

Y/n: "Right"

Taking a breath he starts to focus, his skin turning more blue as an icy fog comes off his body. He then jumps into the water, making Pearl scream before he surfaces completely unharmed.

Y/n: "Ta-da!"

Pearl lets out a sigh of relief as Amethyst jumps into the ocean next to Y/n.

Garnet: "See, no need to be worried"

She reassures Pearl before jumping in herself. The gems and Y/n swim across the boiling ocean eventually making it to land. Amethyst shakes like a dog shaking water on the others.

Pearl: annoyed "Amethyst!"

Y/n: wringing out his shirt "Okay that's the boiling ocean taken care of."

Amethyst: "Whats with the weird lava lamp effect?"

She asks Y/n who looks at her confused before looking down. His gem is seen with a dim light coming from it. The light moving around and splitting into smaller lights almost looking like a lava lamp.
