Nerd Obsession

Chapter Nine

I stood staring at the mass of people in costumes and looked back to Dexter or should I say Spiderman "Please tell me you don't come here every year?" Instead of talking he just nodded and I groaned, this was nerd central.

"Addy, what if someone we knows sees us here?" I hissed and pulled her arm back before we kept walking any further.

She seemed to think about it, then let out a sigh "Mia, who would we know that's here, it's all nerds and gaming geeks"

A throat clearing behind us and we turned to see Dex looking through the little eye holes of his red and blue mask "I wouldn't say that too loud, they might attack." His tone was serious but he winked, telling us he was being playful as well. We started our journey through the massive room, looking at all of the different costumes. Honestly, I couldn't tell you what half of these damn nerds were, but people seemed to be enjoying themselves.

"Addy, how about him?" I pointed to a guy whose costume I couldn't even begin to explain, other than he had padding in all the wrong places. He was in a black suit with a mask on, with women all around him.

"Um, I don't know. I think we shouldn't settle on the first guy we see." Addy was wide-eyed and clearly uncomfortable. I wanted to reach out and hug her but I needed to stay strong. I had goals and things I wanted to accomplish tonight. I was on a mission.

"Dexter, will you please tell me what these costumes are?" I turned slightly and pointed to a group of women who were all wearing the same outfit.

"Mia, you really grew up under a damn rock. Those girls are all Princess Laya as well. She didn't just wear what you and Addy have on the whole movie. She did change her clothes." He rolled his eyes at me and laughed. I smacked him in the chest playfully and when he grunted I laughed.

"Don't make fun of me because I don't live on Plant of the Nerds. I was more interested in the debate team, my grades and making something of myself. I didn't have time for movies." I was focused and dedicated to my school work when I attended. I think that even though I went to college, I didn't really get anything but an accounting degree. Yeah, I went to some parties with Addy and I slept with a few guys but not nearly as many as the normal college student.

"Mia, are you alright?" Addy placed her hand on my arm and I blinked a few times.

"Yeah, sweets I'm okay. I was just thinking." I smiled over at her and then over to Dex. "I'm good. Let's go."

For the next hour or so the three of us walked around the large arena and met all kinds of people... and things. I say things because some of these costumes were very detailed, making these people look other worldly. There were different rooms designated to the major comic book characters. Batman, Super-man, Spider-man, and The Incredible Hulk. Each room had their own 'groupies' and whores that clearly just came here to 'have a good time.'

I could feel people watching the three of us. Addy and I were confident in our costumes and Dexter made it very well known that we were here with him by placing his arm over our shoulders or grabbing a hand full of ass every now and then. I wasn't uncomfortable with the attention, I just didn't want the nerds we were looking for to get the wrong impression.

"Dexter, if you grab my ass again in the next hour I'm going to put your balls in a vice the next time we have sex. I think you've made your point that Addy and I are here with you. Understand, pet?" I smacked his cheek playfully but just hard enough to make that amazing smack sound. His eyes went wide and I smiled and placed a kiss on his lips.

"Yeah, I got it," Dex said as he swallowed hard. I couldn't help but giggle. Part of me was really enjoying this power thing.

I couldn't help but find myself more attracted to the older kind of costumes, the ones I'd known of before today. We stopped outside the Superman room and I looked around at all of the different kinds of the same costume. It was clear that people enjoyed putting their own spin on this classic. There were costumes with cut outs in various spots. Masks that covered people's heads were often replaced with various face paintings instead.
