"So, where were you last night?" I asked Mia as we sat down at the table to eat. Dexter had just run home for the second time to get the rest of his things, leaving me to talk to her in private.

"I don't want to say," Mia spoke in a quiet voice.

"What do you mean you don't want to say. It can't be that bad. Come on, tell me." I pushed her shoulder playfully and she looked up at me with a smile.

"Alright, but if I tell you you have to promise not to laugh." My eyebrow rose in surprise.

"I promise," I said quietly. We didn't keep secrets from each other and here she was, keeping one from me.

"Comic con," Mia said and my eyes grew wider. What did she mean Comic con? She'd gone back?

"I'm confused. You went back... alone? Why would you go without me, Mia?" My tone changed from playful to sad, unable to look at her anymore.

She'd gone looking for a nerd on her own.

"Addy, it wasn't like that. I saw someone last time I was there and I had to-" I raised my hand and faked a smile at her.

"It's okay. No problem." I looked down at my salad, not feeling hungry anymore. I could feel the tension between she and I suddenly. Having to sit here and think about Mia being with someone else wasn't something I was used to. We'd made an agreement and now she was going back on in.

"Addy," Mia said as I stood up from the table. I grabbed my plate and set it on the counter and then quickly left the kitchen. How was it possible that after Mia having to talk me into kidnapping men, I was the one who was suddenly more into this than she was? Either way, I didn't care right now. I wanted some time alone.

I walked to my bedroom and closed the door behind me, locking it. She and Dex could make it one night without me. I walked into my onsuite bathroom and started running the water so I could take a nice hot bath.

I stepped into the hot tub of water and sank down, loving the way it burned against my sore muscles. I realized how tense I actually was the second I finally relaxed. I let the steam work its way into my sore, tight muscles and took a deep breath, shedding the last of my pent up tension.

"Addy," I heard Dexter's voice from the other side of my bathroom door and I jumped.

"How did you get into my room?" I sighed as the words left my lips and a second later Dexter was actually in my bathroom.

"Did you think two locks would keep me from you?" He smiled at me and I just rolled my eyes.

"Closed and locked doors usually mean keep out. I didn't even hear you knock." The irritation was clear in my voice and I took a deep breath, letting it leave my mouth loudly to cement my irritation further.

"What's wrong, baby?" Dexter's voice was soft and sweet, making it hard to be mad.

"I just wanted some alone time. There isn't anything wrong." It was Dex's turn to roll his eyes and he did. He quickly took off his shirt and sat on the toilet to take his shoes off.

"I'm going to get in, move over," Dex said to me.

"No, I want some alone time. Please." Please came out as a whine, making him look over at me.

"We've come to lies now, huh? I can make it all better if you let me, baby. Just move over," He said as he kicked off his last shoe and dropped his pants to the floor. I had no energy for the fight so I did as he said and moved forward so he could crawl in behind me.

"Jesus," Dex said as his feet touched the water. "This is hot." I couldn't help but laugh.

"I love it. It takes all of the tension away." Dex finally lowered himself into the hot water, hissing and curing under his breath the whole way. "Baby," I muttered my breath, making us both laugh.
