Oh boy...school. Don't get me wrong, I'm an honor's student with perfect attendance, but school is the struggle nowadays. Especially with news about a new kid in our class.
"Yo, you alright?" My friend Marcus asked, snapping his fingers in front of my face. He was able to do this since we sat next to each other in geometry, but he's a lot shorter than me so standing up would have made it difficult.
"Yeah, just thinking," I sighed out, flicking him in the face with my baggy black jacket sleeve. But as soon as the new kid finally came in, an icy chill trickled along my spine. That usually happens when I feel like someone's trouble, and well...she had trouble written all over her. Just the sight of her flashy necklace and gothic makeup made me grunt.
"Class, this is Rockel Vargas, she'll be" "Rocky actually my name is Rocky"The strange girl interrupted in a pissed off tone."Rocky will be apart of our class from now on. You can take a seat behind Jessica," the teacher instructed, pointing towards me. My jaw shifted with my feeling of discomfort, and Marcus snickered quietly until my fist connected with his thigh under the table. As soon as Rocky slid in the seat behind me, her cold silver rings brushed my shoulder to get my attention.
With my breath hitching in my throat, I turned towards her. Her black eyes were circled with eye liner and a blue bubble emerged from her black lips.
"Can I get a sheet of paper? I didn't get supplies yet," she asked. Adjusting my glasses quietly, a nod showed my approval. I quickly got the paper from my binder and handed it to her. My heart rate picked up when she rose a pierced eyebrow at me, almost like a disapproving expression.
"You don't talk much do you?" She asked, hoping to get a verbal response. But all she got was a simple shrug from me. Slowly, a Joker like grin came to her face, and that icy chill easily returned at the sight of it.
"I think I can change that...Jessica right?" Rocky had said, getting me to nod once more. Before any other words were exchanged, I turned back around and continued my worksheet. But my focus was cut short when Marcus slid a note under my elbow.
