The Raven's Love.

Chapter 7

Nat had arrived home after school and had since then been trying to get ahold of Jasper. He sent him texts, called him, went to his house, before panicking. Nat grabbed his phone and texted Kevin in panick. 'I can't find him. He won't answer his phone, he's not at home. Kev help me!'

Kevin on the other hand, was at Eddward's house. Kevin was sitting on the couch, rubbing an already drunken Eddward's back and stroking the ravenous locks from his beloved's face. "Eddward.. why are you already wasted.." But he knew it was stupid to ask. He knew why Eddward was like this.

Dante.

Eddward had lost it since seeing Dante at school. He had grown sick and left early, and Kevin worried, followed shorlty after, while Nat sat at school, worrying the entire day. Kevin glanced to his phone, which was lift up with many messages from Nat and many missed calls. A small sigh left his lips, but right now his main concern was Eddward, not that he didn't worry for Jasper, but he couldn't leave Eddward like this. He had drank since he got home, had several panic attacks and Kevin was starting to worry. Eddward glanced up at Kevin, his cyan blue eyes glossy and dazed from the intoxication. Kevin frowned and gently pulled Eddward's hat off, letting the black locks drop across Edd's face before tugging the taller male against his smaller, but well built body.

"Edd please stop this.. I know this is hard but I can't watch you do this to yourself.." he said, tears starting to well up. Eddward, too drunk to comprehend simply grunted, gently pushing Kevin from him. Kevin frowned at this but sat back against the couch, giving Eddward the small bit of space he was wanting. "Please baby.." he pleaded. Cyan eyes lifted from the floor to lock onto green saddened ones.

"Kevin.. I can't do this anymore.." Eddward said. Kevin frowned and rubbed Edd's back gently "We can get rid of him we just have to-"

"No.." Eddward cut him off, tears soon pouring from those sad cyan pools. "Kevin..." he gently reached over, gripping the sweet ginger's hand. The boy he had grown to love so much in only a few years. The boy he knew he wanted to spend his life with. "I can't drag you into this.." Eddward said abruptly. Kevin swallowed nervously, his heart starting to pick up pace. He glanced at Eddward, his nerves on edge. "Edd.. Please don't.. Don't say it.." he started crying, trying to mentally prepare himself for what he knew was about to happen. "I'm begging you don't.." Kevin whimpered, his breath growing anxious. Edd looked up to Kevin, lifting his hands and gently wiped his tears before pressing his lips tenderly to the boy's forehead.

"I love you, Kevin. ANd that's why I have to do this.. to protect you.. Just until this goes away.." Eddward said softly. The words sent Kevin over the edge and soon he was bawling and clinging to the raven, pleading and begging for him not to leave. "Edd please!" he cried loudly, the pang in his voice hurting Edd.

"Kevin.. We're over..." Not wanting to make things harder, Edd did the only thing he knew he had to do, though he truly didn't want to. "Please leave.." he asked, his heart breaking at the words he said to Kevin and shattering at the broken cries of his love.

"Please Edd! Let me help you! Don't do this to me!" he gasped, his hands gripping at the clothing against Edd's chest. Tears started to well in Edd's eyes, but slowly he stood, takng Kevin's hands and walked to the front door with the boy. He pushed the door open then looked down at Kevin, a single tear sliding down his pale face. "Kevin.... Leave.." he said once more. He couldn't do this, but he had to. He needed to protect Kevin. He needed to keep him safe. Even if it meant temporarily losing him. Kevin stared at Eddward bewildered, unable to process what was happening. He swallowed hard, then blankly walked back to grab his phone and without looking back quickly ran out the front door and into the darkness. Edd shut the door behind Kevin, then dropped to his knees and clutched his chest, tears pouring furiously down his face.
