The Raven's Love.

Chapter 8

It had been a few days since the incident with Jasper. Nat had been in his own world taking care of his boyfriend and Kevin was off hanging with Nazz as much as possible to keep the raven from coming into mind. The ginger would occasionally lose focus and stare aimlessly at things, thinking of Edd, those cyan eyes, how much he missed holding him. It near made him sick, but at this point in time he couldn't do anything. It was only yesterday that he got that message from him.

'Until then we can't speak. Not till this break is over. I love you pumpkin.'

That message burned into Kevin, those words cutting him like a knife. The red head let out a sigh then glanced up to Nazz. Vacation had started and this would be the longest Kevin would imagine. Each day dragged by, slower then the last, more hurtful then before. Nazz gently shook the red head out of his daze, who then glanced at her. She smiled and took Kevin's hand, leading him down to the campfire her and several friends had made up to distract the boy. With a broke smile Kevin drifted after her.

~Edd's POV~

Thoughts came in tidal waves. They would rush and hit him harder then he'd ever felt, then lapse back momentarily to give him just a second to breathe before they drowned him once more. The raven let out a small whimper. He had done nothing but drink the past several days. Black circles decorated his cyan eyes, which were blood shot from lack of sleep and countless hours of crying. The drunken boy stared at the wall, his eyes unmoving.

'I'm breaking..'

The only thought swarming his mind at that time. Slowly Edd rose and walked out the door of his house, then jumped into his car. He started the car up, threw it in reverse to pull out of his driveway, then drove off into the darkness.

~Kevin's POV~

The night had been long, it came up to 7am slowly. All the kids at the campfire were either passed out, or dancing and singing in their drunken stupor. Kevin was laying back on the ground, staring up at the sky which had become a soft pinkish orange. He yawned and shut his eyes, soon passing out.

The sun had since come up and beside Kevin's head his phone was vibrating. Hours after sleeping the boy opened his eyes and glanced at the phone, which had 20 missed calls. Confused Kevin lifted the phone and checked his phone, the missed calls were from Jasper, Nat and the hospital. Kevin quickly punched in Nat's number. He stayed silent and awaited for the voice at the other end.

"Kevin?" Came Nat's voice, quiet and a bit distraught. "Kevin you need to meet me and Nazz at the hospital. It's important."

Kevin went silent and quickly hung up, then jumped into his car and went speeding to the hospital.

After arriving, Kevin ran inside to meet Nat, who looked confused and completely worried. He glanced to Kevin and gestured the ginger to follow him. Slowly they made their way up the stairs to the second floor and walked down the hall where Nazz was standing outside one of the doors, looking in. She turned back to Kevin and gasped, running over to the boy and hugging him tightly.

"We're here for you. I'm so sorry."

Kevin stared confused and pushed past Nazz. He quickly ran into the room and froze in his spot, his emerald hues glassing over. The sight before him was enough to make him sick. There lay his Raven, black circles under his eyes, bruises and cuts covering his face and arms. The boy was hooked up to many machines including a respirator to help him breathe. Kevin stared at his friend's wide eyed, confusion over his face.

"W-What happened..."

Nat looked at Nazz then at Kevin "The nurse said he was drinking and driving. He got into a bad wreck.."

Kevin only shook his head and ran over to Eddward's bed side, gently grabbing hold of his lovers hand.

"Edd why.." Was all he could manage as it came in broken words, his chest rising and falling with each rushed and hurried breath he took.
"How did this happen?!" Kevin screamed, unable to control his breaths. He stared down at the battered body of his lover and leaned over, pressing his lips to Eddward's

"I'm not leaving. I'm not fucking leaving Edd. We aren't doing this anymore.."

Nat glanced to Nazz and sighed, gesturing they should both leave to give Kevin space. Both turned and took off and shortly after Kevin drifted off to sleep, his arms wrapped around Edd as gently as he could manage.

Kevin opened his eyes. It was dark. Outside the window and in the room, but what met his was a pair of brilliant cyan hues. Kevin gasped and quickly sat up, his own hues locked onto Eddward's.

"How long have you been here?"
Eddward asked, gently running his fingers through Kevin's hair. Kevin whimpered at the feeling he missed and pressed into Eddward's hand, gently grabbing hold of the ravens arm.

"You were sleeping... Eddward why did you do this.." He managed to say, his voice cracking at the tears he tried to fight back. Eddward frowned and looked down at the bed then up to Kevin, his thumb tracing down the bridge of Kevin's nose gently.

"I messed up.. I messed up bad.. But I can't do this without you Kevin.. I kept thinking of how these weeks or months would be without you... It drove me mad.. I started drinking then I panicked because I wanted to see you, but also wanted to keep you safe.. So I jumped into my car and went driving off to clear my head.. I'm so sorry I did it pumpkin.. I swear it won't happen again.. Just please.. Take back this fool who was stupid enough to ever let you go.."

Kevin's eyes watered and a smile broke onto his face. He quickly hugged Eddward and nodded into his chest. "Of course I'll be with you again." He mumbled.

Eddward gently pushed him back and shook his head, a shy smile on his face. "No Kevin.." He then reached over and grabbed his hoodie, which had been on the chair beside the bed. He dug through the pockets and pulled out a small beautiful silver ring with had a single emerald in it. Kevin quickly gasped and sat up in shock, staring wide eyed at the ring then at Eddward. Eddward gripped his lovers hand and kissed each knuckle tenderly, before holding the ring up to Kevin.

"Kevin.. My sweet pumpkin.."

He started as tears started spilling down Kevin's eyes.
"Will you marry me?"
Kevin whimpered and quickly buried his face into Eddward's chest.
"Yes! A million times yes!" He cried. Eddward smiled and gently slid the ring onto Kevin's hand, then cupped his chin to make the boy look at him.

"Run away with me."

Kevin blinked and stared at Eddward then bit his lip. "Run away?"

Eddward nodded, his hand gently gripping Kevin's. "Yes. Run away with me. It's not safe here. I have a small cabin out in a wooded area up state. He won't find us. Not you. We can be together. We can be married, well spend our lives together, never in fear of anyone."

Eddward seemed incredibly intent on what he wanted. Kevin on the other hand was unsure. "What about Nat? Or Nazz? What about Jasper?" He frowned, knowing he'd miss his friends all too much and worried for their safety. Eddward only frowned and rubbed the back of his head gently. "They'll come with us. Nat and Jasper are in danger here anyways. Nazz.. Well I'm not sure Kevin.. Right now I want you safe.. Your friends second.."

Kevin only sat up a bit and stared down into his lap, his face full of confusion and worry. "Eddward this is really.. This is soon." He stated. Eddward nodded, as he knew it was but how else was he to keep Kevin safe from Dante? Then it sprung on him. Eddward chuckled and smiled then leaned forward to kiss Kevin's forehead gently.

"I have an idea. Don't worry. I'll take care of everything.. In the mean time start planning our wedding. I want to marry you as soon as possible."

Kevin smiled and blushed, kissing Eddward's lips tenderly and gently, his arms gently circling around the others waist.

"Of course my raven~"
