Today was a day like any other day, another day where Eddward would have to struggle with memories of his past and another day where he would have to wait until Kevin was back from camp. Eddward sighed and slowly sat up in his bed, his blanket falling into his lap, show casing the many scars covering his arms. 'How disgusting..' He thought, his eyes unmoving from the hideous scars he had self inflicted on himself when he was younger. He wasn't proud of them. How could he be? Eddward wasn't that type of person but when you deal with what he did, what other alternative is there?
Eddward groaned, shutting his eyes tightly as he mentally prepared himself for the day ahead. Slowly, one foot after another, his legs swung over the side of the bed and onto the floor where he slowly pushed himself up, making his way through the empty house to the bathroom. As he walked through the hall, his eyes glanced from the many notes his parents had left and the many labels Eddward had put around. They had become the only company he had when Kevin was gone. Once in the bathroom Eddward started the shower, the hot water spilling down the drain and mist taking over the room. Eddward had a bad habit of showering under boiling water when he was lost in thought or distressed, to the point he'd go to school with small burns on his skin. Eddward looked into the mirror and saw his appearance to which he was not that fond of. Shaggy black hair, a gap settled between his front teeth, and his skin pale as always but muscular. Eddward had changed. He wasn't the frail boy who was bullied anymore. In fact Eddward had become the bully.
In another area of the state, Kevin was already up and outside with Nazz at Camp Dreamers, tutoring and mentoring the kids. Nazz was admiring one of the girl's drawing before turning to Kevin, noticing a distant and far away expression on his face. "Kevin sweetie?" Nazz asked gently, her hand laying on Kevin's shoulder.
He quickly snapped back to reality and looked over at Nazz, a small smile flat out on his face. "Sorry... I'm just..."
"You're worried about him I know." She said softly. Nazz and Nat were the only friends of Kevin's who knew about him and Eddward. After all Eddward was the captain of the swim team, a popular guy. He's also the one bullying Kevin, the teen often wondering why. Eddward was just afraid of losing his status and getting picked on again but never told anyone due to that anxiousness buried in him.
"He's never been this long without me there.. Especially since the last time..." He went silent. The thought of Eddward lying motionless in the hospital bed appeared in his memories. "Mentally he can't be alone..." Kevin added, only to recieve a gentle nod from Nazz.
"Well camp only has a few more days. Try calling him?" Kevin looked up at Nazz, a smile on his lips as he nodded.
"Thank you." He added. She smiled as Kevin made a run to his cabin to grab his cellphone.
Kevin paced for a good few minutes before dialing Eddward's number in his cell phone, bringing the object up to his ear and waiting patiently for an answer. Eddward's eyes were closed, his head lowered and his skin red from just standing under the hot water. Slowly his eyes opened at the sound of his phone going off. He quickly bolted from the bathroom, not caring he was naked and snatched his phone up, his heart slamming when he saw that beautiful name.
"Hello?" Eddward spoke quietly, calmness rushing over him when he could hear his sweet boy's voice.
"Edd.. I've been worried... I don't like being away this long and y-" but Eddward interjected him.
"Kevin you've been looking forward to this trip for well over a few months. I couldn't bear to tear that away from you..." he whispered, tears flooding his cheeks, but his voice never cracked nor lost note. He didn't need Kevin to know he was like this.
Kevin was silent for about a few seconds before adding, "Okay baby... I love you.. please don't do anything stupid... I don't want to see anymore-"
