It had been a little over a few weeks since Kevin and Eddward's big fight. Since then Kevin had located Jasper and followed him around at school, being sure to stay out of sight once spotted.
Eddward had been going about life. Enjoying the time he had with Kevin, keeping his grades up and of course remaining top in all his classes. One class in particular he would purposely daze out on. Cyan eyes would shift ever so lightly to the silver orbs, which were focused to the front of the class, belonging to Jasper. It wasn't like the kid was bad... but he reminded Eddward too fondly of someone from his past. This caused the Raven to cringe. He didn't want Jasper to have some thing for him. Eddward just wanted to finally be alone with Kevin and actually enjoy their time together.
The bell had rang, signaling the end of class. Eddward was the first out of his seat in the classroom. He rushed down the hall, paying no mind before crashing into Nat, nearly toppling backwards before catching himself on the lockers. "Sorry I didn't see you..." Edd mumbled.
Nat chuckled and raised his hands, letting Edd know he was fine. One jock to another. Edd let out a sigh. Nat had been Kevin's best friend for as long as Edd could remember. He had helped them through hard times and was there for Kevin through even harder times, as Kevin was for him. Nat had always been a sweet guy and he wasn't a bad catch either. Teal hair, honey eyes, and light freckles over his cheeks to top it all off. He was gorgeous and had done so much for Kevin and Edd.
"Thanks man... you're a good guy." Edd said.
Nat only laughed and a smug arose, flipping his hair sarcastically. "Why thanks." He smirked, honey eyes raising to just behind Eddward, locking onto Jasper.
Edd turned and noticed this, just as he had spotted Nat giving the other googly eyes for the past few weeks since he'd got here. "Why don't you just ask him out?" Edd questioned quietly, only to receive a look from Nat.
"Cause... well he's gorgeous. And... well... if by chance something were to happen what if I..." he started, only to be finished by Edd who added, "You won't lose him. You can't be afraid to push on because of Rave." Edd knew how hard something like this could be. Maybe not physically but he had sure read enough books. Edd gave Nat a small smile, then moved past the other to go about his day.
-Nats POV-
Nat watched Edd leave, before returning his gaze to the beautiful boy before him. "He's right Nat.." he mumbled to himself. Nat slowly started walking over when he suddenly felt his body becoming tense and quickly turned around to run. He panted and kept running until he was back stage of the drama theater. The same place his sweet Rave had always played in. This had become his thinking spot.
Nat sat down amongst the scattered and clothed items, tears freshly pricking his eyes before cascading down his face. Small sobs left Nat's throat as his honey eyes lowered to the floor. He gently shut his eyes - taking in the smell, the sound and the feel of being back there - only to tense slightly at the hand that dropped on his shoulder. Nat quickly shot a gaze back up at the hand, honey hues meeting ice silver. Nat went silent then looked back down.
Jasper sat beside him and looked out at the empty seating columns, his facial expression vacant as always. He was so hard to read. Soon enough Jasper looked over at Nat, clearing his throat gently before speaking. "You know... Life has a funny way of working. You're popular growing up, get great grades in school, and turn in all your homework. Hell you're even a great kid to your parents. You may have a gorgeous babe, tons of friends... best life ever... then life decides to rip things from you. It looks at you and thinks, 'Well you're pretty popular. You're a great student, friend and kid. Now what could I possibly do to make your story that much more interesting?'" Jasper stopped, ice silver hues landing to Nat.
Nat smiled slightly, keeping his head down as Jasper finished his speech. "So life takes someone from you. Your babe right? Life thinks that's how it gets fair with giving you all those other amazing gifts... Life sucks and sometimes it's down right unfair. But you've only just started your story. Don't shut the book yet; you have many chapters to go." He added. As simple as that, Nat melted, a small smile creeping on his lips. Such sweet words. Such soft sentiment from someone like him. It was the last thing to be expected. Nat chuckled and nodded, looking Jasper over.
"Thank you..." was all he could say, as simple as that before springing new tears to his eyes, these ones though weren't from sadness. Nat smiled, shaking his head at the refreshing feelings that replaced the pain and angst he had felt for so long.
"Thank you..."
Jasper slowly raised his eyes to Nat, a smile curving over his pink lips. "Anytime. I'm Jasper by the way." He added, making Nat flush faintly.
"I know who you are." Nat added gently, "I'm Nat."
Jasper and Nat spent most of the rest of the day skipping classes and chatting. Nat had found the boy to be so... wanting.. desireable and it only made the teal haired male want the blue jay /that/ much more. Nat was glancing aimlessly at Jasper's beautiful silver eyes, his own scanning and taking in every bit of the blue jay. Nat couldn't help this feeling. He had wanted Jasper since he first laid eyes on him, but even Nat could tell the blue jay had an obsession with Edd and this only hurt.
~Edd's POV~
Eddward had been mosing about his day and attempting to make the best of it, as he hadn't seen Kevin for most of it, though he believed the ginger was snooping and trying his damndest to set up the teal beauty and the blue jay. Eddward sighed and glanced down at his note book before scribbling across it. He had caught up on notes and the remainder of his homework and quite frankly school bored Eddward. Yes, he dearly loved his education, enjoyed learning things, but he was only being taught things he already knew.
The bell rang, dismissing the school day. Eddward bolted from the room and made a run to the bottom of the stairs at the front entrance, only to be greeted by Kevin, who was speaking to Nat. Edd approached the two and looked between them, his cyan eyes full of confusion. "Nat you okay?" he asked the clearly distressed male. Nat kept silent and let out another hefty sigh, followed by Kevin.
"He has a thing for Jasper. But he knows Jasper has a thing for you." he muttered, obviously upset with Jasper's feeling for /his/ man. Kevin glanced down then looked up to Eddward and smiled. "You ready for some setting up?" he asked. Eddward cracked a devious grin, giving the ginger a nod in return. "Let's do it." he chuckled, Nat now staring at the two as if they were crazy.
"Don't worry Nat. We got you." Kevin said as the three made their way off to their vehicles.
