Chapter 2

Chapter two; Too Good to be True...

     I awake to screaming. 'my parents' I think. Of course there fighting. I hear something shatter and i think dad is going on one of his rampages. I can't make out all the of the words but i hear "Why do you think you can spend all this money?! We're not made of it dammit!". I walk down stairs hopeing dad dosent catch me. I want to help mom, but dad gets even more mad when i try and comfort her and he'll hurt her worse...

     Thankfully the fighting has subsided and I manage to sneak out the back door and walk down to the lake. I wade in the water for a while and just think how perfect life would be if dad didn't live with us. Just me and mom. Sadley dad owns the house and if he kicks us out, he stays and we go. Ohio is expensive and mom can't afford anything here so thats why we would have to move to good ole California.... hah.

      A few hours later i think it's safe to go home. They've probably stopped fighting and moms locked up in her room, while dad types away at his computer. Usually i don't like staying home because the tension feels like it's my fault. So i usually walk to my friends house, Kameron and me and her will walk to the mall or Starbucks and meet up with Carter. We have all been good friends since seventh grade.

     As soon as i get home, i see mom cooped up in her room and dad in his office, of course. I decide to go upstairs and change into my high-waisted shorts with my combaat boots and a crop top that says "Too good to be true", grab my phone and wallet, and head out the door. I make sure to leave mom a note so she knows where i'll be and slip it under the door. I don't like to bother her after a fight because she gets terrible headaches.

       I walk into Kamerons house as if it was my own. I hear Kameron run down the stairs. "DALANIE HEY BITCH". This is why i love her. (btw we havent seen eachother for a couple of months since we dont go to the same school).

"KAMERONNN! Starbucks?"

"Ok ill text Carter and tell him to meet us!"

     After we tell Kamerons' mom bye, we walk to SB and meet Carter. We see Carter and walk over to the counter and order. We all get the same thing and go find a seat.

"How have things been at home?" Carter asks me curisouly.

"Things have gotten a little worse, mom is having her 'I think we should move' Mood again. I don't think we'll leave since school isnt quite over and i am captain of the dance team."

"Hopefully they stop all this fighting, if you moved, i would DIEEEE" Kameron grabs my shoulders and shakes me.

"Eh, don't worry, she always says this and we havent yet."

"Well lover boy would be crushed." Shes says with the biggest grin on her face.

     Me and this guy, Damion, have been talking. He has been my crush but im starting think i dont like him as mch as i thought. Kameron thinks he is in love with me which of course he isnt.

   We finish our Frappe's' and Kameron and Carter walk back to here homes. I suppose the tension is loosend so i go home. I open the door and walk in. I hear my mom walk up the stairs, i think she has been crying. She walks up to me and grasps my arm slightly and walks me to her room. I don't  know whats going on. My Mom looks me in the eyes and sighs.

"Dalanie, i wish i didn't have to say this, escpesally not right now. But we are moving."
