"Annabeth, it's time for you to get up. You got school." A deep voice had boomed from the outside of my closed bedroom door. I opened my eyes, sat up and swiveled so I was sitting at the edge of my twin size bed. I picked up my cell phone that had spent the night charging, on the night stand that was placed by my bed-side, and I turned it on. The clock the top of my screen read 6:30 am Wednesday January 5th 2016, which meant I had to get ready for school. I stood up and went over to my closet and picked out what I was gonna wear today. I ended up grabbing a beige tank top, dark blue skinny jeans, my black heeled boots and a light leather jacket. After getting dressed I go to the bathroom to finish getting ready. I brushed my teeth and my long brown hair, and finally I put on my make up, keeping with a natural look. By time I was done it was 7:00, so I grabbed my school bag and rushed out the door. I hopped in my car and called my best friend Tyler.
"Hey Ty, I'm on my way to pick you up. I'll be there in a couple minutes, so be ready." I hung up my phone, started my car, backed out of my drive way, and started on driving down the road. After a few minutes of driving I reached Tyler's house. I honked the horn three times to let him know that I was outside his house. After a couple of minutes he came running outside. He was 5'11" tall and he was fair skinned, he had messy short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a plains black t-shirt and a pair of faded jeans with his favorite shoes. As he ran to the car his messager styled backpack flopped back and forth. He got in the car and I then drove off too school.
"Good morning Annabeth. Thanks for the ride to school today. My car is in the shop still." he said.
"Not a problem Ty, and it's no surprise that your car is still in the shop since you did drive it into a tree." I said with a little laugh.
"Hey, it's not like I did it on purpose. it was an accident." He said innocently.
"Well it might as well of been on purpose, since you were texting while driving." I reminded him.
"No one got hurt." He replied.
"No, but your pride was. Watching you get your ass handed to you on a silver platter by your mother was hysterical. The look on your face was priceless." I said laughing.
"Hey you don't have to be mean about it." He said after sticking his tongue out at me.
"You deserve it Ty, if you paid attention to the road instead of your cell phone, you wouldn't be having to get rides from me every morning." I said laughing.
"Yeah yeah. What ever. I learned my lesson." He said
I laughed a little bit. The rest of the ride was quiet except for the music from the radio that Tyler had put on. After a few minute we had arrived at school. I parked the car in one of the empty spots in the front of the building. Me and him both got out of the car and started to walk in with the rest of the crowd of students. School still hasn't started yet, so I told Tyler that I was gonna run to my locker and that I'd see him in our first period. He told me he would save me a seat and he ran off to colass. I then ran to my locker and opened it to get the books I would need for the first few classes of the day. I then closed my locker, when I heard the school bell ring. I then started to sprint down the hallway so I wouldn't be late to the first class of the day. Luckily I made just in time, so I wasn't marked late. I walked to the back of the classroom and sat next to Ty who was sitting in his normal spot. I sat down right next to him like I normally do.
"Oooo just made it. You were almost late Annabeth." He said with a giggle.
"Yeah I know. I ran down the hall way to make sure I made it on time." I told him.
"It's a good thing you did. If you didn't you would've been locked out of the classroom, ruining your perfect attendance record." He mentioned, while smirking at me.
"My record isn't that important. I mainly care about what people think of me. If the teachers have a good opinion of me then it's a good thing." I said ignoring his rudeness.
"What other people think matters a lot to you doesn't it?" Tyler asked.
"Well yeah, that's why I put in extra effort to look good and that I have a good attitude, and that I appeal to everyone in all crowds." I said.
"That sounds like a lot of work, Ann, that would explain why you are so popular with everyone in the school."
"Yup. I put in a lot of effort and it all pays off." I said, looking at him with a smile.
"It's too much effort. It's not worth all the time and energy to make someone like you, because not everyone will like who you are. So why bother putting most of your time on it. It's better to not worry about it." He said.
"Well that's your opinion. I enjoy that everyone likes me." I said.
"Okay class, quiet down. It's time to begin." Our teacher had said in a demanding tone.
Our teacher is named Mr. Rodrick, we all call him that, instead of his last name. That's mainly because it is way to hard to pronounce. It's Latin or something like that. He is our English teacher. He is a pretty cool teacher. Very easy going and his class wasn't to hard. Yesterday we started reading our quarterly book, which was "Of Mice and Men", which was mandatory for seniors to read. He started passing out the books to the class when there was a knock at the door. It opened and in came the principal. Mr. Rodrick walked over to the principal and they started to talk quietly. He handed our teacher a binder and they continued to talk.
"What do you think they are talking about?" Ty asked me.
"I have no clue. Probably some club that he has to watch after school today" I said.
Mr. Rodrick stopped talking to the principal and walked to his desk. the Principal stood in front of the class.
"Class you have a new student joining your class." he said.
He held his arm out and waved the student in. This girl then walked in, and the instant i saw her, my draw dropped and my heart began to race.
"Wow. I have never seen anyone like that beautiful before." I said quietly.
