December 10, 2024

Few days have passed by, Third and I are getting closer and closer to each other. Every time we won't feel weak, we'd spend our energies strolling around the park at the hospital.

Call it fast or whatever, but every seconds count for people whose lives are on the line of the clock. I have never been happy like this too for awhile.

I already figured out something's wrong with me every time I see new bruises every day that I have to keep them seen from my parents.

I always search whatever in the internet about the symptoms I'm noticing in my body but never do I ever expected it will be this worst. And for the meantime, I felt scared. I felt scared to the point where I had done a lot of things spontaneously, as if there's an hourglass running to its end for me... and there is.

"You know, I drown more in your thoughts than in pools that I've swam in my life." I snapped back when I heard Third joked beside me. We were watching the sunset in one of the benches at the park and I just realized what he said so I gave him a weak punch and he just annoyingly laugh.

"Hmp! Not so funny. Try again. Plus, you swim?" I asked sarcastically. For all I know, he's been in the hospital since he's a child. No way he swims.

"I do! Hindi ka ba naniniwala?" He then looked at me with his convincing eyes so I squint mine and all of a sudden, we have a staring contest.

I can't deny that we looked more likely a mental ward patients than a patient with physical illness.

And we just found ourselves laughing.

After a laughs, silence walked in.

"Pero, hindi nga... You swim?" I softly asked. I am getting more curious of what life he has been living since.

"I did. But not in swimming pools..." I can sensed the hesitations whether he should tell me about it or not.

I shrugged my shoulder off and chuckle,"You don't have to say it okay? I am just a curious being. You know? Should we even hide a secret from each other knowing we'll die in the end?"

Oops.

The aura surrounding us changed and the mood became heavy. Hindi ko naman intented na sabihin 'yon, but it's the fact. Maybe... truth is just a hard pill to swallow.

"I hope you live long, Sakura. I don't see any reasons why your life should end." I could feel my heart throbbing wild. He said it with so much sadness yet sincerity that it made a lump in my throat as I felt my eyes became cold and blurry.

I wiped my tears and looked away. "Stop saying that, Third. We both deserve to live. Not just me. I want to know you better, so when the time comes and we both are finally healed, we can continue what's going on between us in a much deeper level," I said. I gave the back of his hand a soft rub and he just looked at it. I heard him sighed deeply and held my hand back. I reassured him by smiling and he did too.

I wish the time would freeze where I can feel his warmth on my hand. I wish God is not that cruel to take us away from each other.

"Should we go back? We had a long day already. Kailangan na natin magpahinga."

As much as I don't want this to end, I nodded. Third, let's heal together. I have never been this happy. I have never felt this neverending excitement with all the spontainty I've done in life. And I would always look forward to seeing you every day, and I hope you feel the same way too.
