Mabel and Dipper awoke early only to find that the world had turned greyscale. They gasped and turned towards their friend's bed.

Bill was sweating, his skin a sickly pale color as his golden eyes stared at a man at the end of his bed. It was obvious that he was dying.

The man was completely black with two, red horns sticking out of his head and two, golden eyes that seemed to stare into his soul. The blonde spoke to him, his voice raspy and coughing every couple of words.

"S-so, if I make a deal with," he coughed,"you, I'll live another day?" The man at the end of his bed nodded, a toothy grin appearing on its face.

The golden-eyed male thought for a moment, his eyes on the demon. He spoke, clearly losing consciousness.

"Deal," He said, reaching his hand out to shake the demon's. "No!" The twins shouted as Bill's hand reached closer.

He turned his head, looking at the duo. His eyes, showing pure hopelessness bore into them.

"I'm sorry, there's no other choice."

Their hands connected, the demon's lighting up with a red flame as its distorted laugh rang throughout the house. It stopped as its source started to fade, grin still plastered on his face.

Bill's eye widened as he realized what was happening. An electric pain ripped through his body like lightning striking a rod of copper. He let out a pained yell.

"YOU TRICKED ME! YOU-" He stopped speaking as his eye glowed white and he was lifted out of his bed.

He sparked, an eye suddenly being engraved into his triangular eyepatch. He laughed insanely as sparks rose up his body, from his feet to his head then, there was an explosion of white light.

Everything went silent as the twins were thrown backwards. Their bodies never hit the closet behind them however as, instead, they hit some sort of bouncy net, hitting the floor with a thump. They were now in a white room, no longer the elegant bedroom that they were used to.

A glowing, yellow shape floated a good distance and hight in front of them. The creature glared down at them with his single eye, his inky, black arms crossed.

The twins eyes widened as they saw him, inching backwards on the ground.

"What made you think that this was a good idea?" He asked, his triangular body glowing with every word spoken. "W-we're sorry! W-we d-didn't-" "I DON'T WANT YOUR SYMPATHY!" He roared, angrily, his body turning a deep red. "WHAT WERE YOU TWO THINKING?! 'OH, LETS GO MESS AROUND IN BILL'S PAST!' 'I WANNA SEE WHY HE'S TURNED OUT THIS WAY!' WHY DONT YOU JUST KEEP YOUR NOSES OUT OF OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS FOR ONCE?!" Bill yelled, fluttering his eyelashes when he imitated the two.

The twins just huddled together, afraid. They didn't mean to anger him! They were just being curious!

The demon sighed and put one of his hands on his closed eye, obviously frustrated. As he did this, his color faded back to yellow. He pulled his hand down and opened his eye, looking at the twins.

"Look, I'm a nice guy, okay? I'm not even angry! So, why don't you just go?" He said, a circular tunnel with a spacey design opening behind him.

The two looked at him with sympathy before looking down, sadly at the ground. They stood up and started walking to the portal. Mabel suddenly stopped and looked up, blankly. She turned around and looked at the demon who had stopped looking at them and had sat on the ground, his back to them.

Her brother stopped as well and turned to look at his sibling, beaconing her towards the portal. She lifted her hand up in a "wait" signal as she looked at the demon.

"What are you waiting for? Go already! You saw everything you needed to see." "Bill, I'm sorry. We both are. We went back in time and found you and decided that it'd be interesting to see what made you this way. We shouldn't have done that. I'm so sorry." Bill didn't answer. He just sat there, hugging his knees to his chest as a hint of blue made its way into his form.

"We're so so-" "It's okay." The twins' eyes widened as they heard Bill's response. He had never said anything nice to them before and meant it.

His body slowly faded to a light blue color, his top hat, bow tie, and limbs changing to white.

Mabel understood the color scheme and started making her way closer to the demon, her brother protesting silently at each step she took. When she made it to him, she put a hand on his shoulder, making him flinch just slightly and look up at her before looking away, sadly.

"Thank you, Mabel," he said, keeping his eye off of her.

"We've gotta go, Mabes," Dipper said, softly. "But-" "Mabel, go home. You have a family to be with," Bill said, looking up at her out of the corner of his eye.

She nodded, sadly and took her hand off of his shoulder, walking pack to the portal with her twin.

From that moment on, Mabel Pines swore to it that she would treat her family and love them more than she'd ever loved them before. Treasure what you have. It may not be much, but it's much better than what most people go through day-by-day.
