A.N. hope you like long chapters lol
I jerked awake, breathing fast and ragged. My eyes were as big as saucers, darting around the room to make sure I was back in the hotel.
My breathing returned to normal as I realized I was back in the hotel room. I flopped back down on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Knock knock....
I heard someone knocking on the door. I looked over at the bedside clock real fast. 3:05AM it read. Who would be up at this hour?!
I quickly got up and walked over to the door before they came in. I grasped the handle and pulled open the door to see the girl from the front desk, holding a broom.
"Uh, hey Phil. I was hearing some strange laughter and some other noises from your room and I was just checking if you were okay." She said tiredly. She yawned and rubbed her eyes, still clutching the broom. "Sorry if I disturbed you, I was just worried that something happened."
"I'm fine, I just had a nightmare." I think. "And what are you doing up at this hour? Go back to sleep, you look like you need it." I said in the same tone a parent would use.
"I was cleaning up the hotel. We are understaffed these days so I have to do everything myself. And don't worry, I'm a nightowl anyway." She smiled. "And besides, you need the sleep after that incident with Dan." Wait what? How could she possibly know about that? "I highly suggest going back to your apartment, because running away from your problems won't solve them." She said tiredly, and reached into my room and closed the door. I reopened it and she was gone. No way she could run that fast, or be so quiet about it.
That girl was strange, really strange.
I thought back to what she said. Maybe she was right. Running away from my problems won't solve them. I decided to go back to London when my 2 nights here was over, which was tommorow.
I closed the hallway door and slided back into bed. Thoughts raced through my mind, but they eventually calmed as I fell into a dreamless sleep.

My crusty eyes awoke to sunlight filtered by a dirty window. Knowing this was strange, I glanced around the room just to be safe.
The paint was slightly peeling off the walls, old and faded. The paintings were damaged and just barely hanging off the walls, looking like it's been there for a very long time.
I looked down at the bedsheets. They looked like the rest of the room, extremely old. Dirty and crusty, the bedsheets crinkled and cracked under my weight.
"What the hell happened here?" I whispered, looking around the room. The WiFi router was the only thing that wasn't centuries old, but still had a thick layer of dust on it.
Something isn't right, I thought.
I quickly sat up and rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes. I jumped up out of bed and speedily grabbed my jacket containing my wallet, phone, and my keys and opened the hallway door amd looked out of it to see if the strangeness of my room continued into the hall. And it did.
The light fixtures were dirty and old, and some were flickering with age. The paint was faded and slightly peeling. The doors looked quite damaged and decaying with age. Everything, like the WiFi router, had layers of dust, left undisturbed for God knows how long.
I closed my room door behind me and took out the room key. I looked at the key and it was rusty and reeked of age. You know what, everything reeked of unnatural age here. I locked the door with some difficulty (the key being rusty and the lock being old) and ran down the hall into the lobby.
