MELANIE POV:

3 years have passed and Ariana still was in a Coma... A lot has changed. and by a lot I mean A LOT.

Zayn and I got really close in these years, we grew older and we knew what we wanted to do with our future, we wanted to be apart of each others future, so Zayn proposed and we got engaged. We're getting married in two weeks and every day I became more anxious.

One direction broke up and Niall and Harry went on for solo carrers. The rest of the guys thought it was time to stop and spend time with their families. Lou and Liam got married and Liam and Danielle had a little girl. And Zayn and I were the god parents!

Everyone was much more mature now, but times never changed with the guys and I. We were still playing around and acting like kids.

I haven't spoken to Niall since he left and never came back almost 3 years ago.. But he was coming to the wedding, but I told Zayn I wasn't going to speak to him, after he left Ariana.

Zayn and I were supposed to move to London after the wedding, but I wanted to stay in Florida and take care of Ariana. I knew I wouldn't bare to see her once in a while, because the guys and I are the only people she has left. Ariana's boss, Nathan, visited from time to time, but he also stopped like Niall did.

I would go every day to visit Ariana and I would change her into the dresses Louis brought to her every day he came to visit. There was a closet full of them and way more at home. Every day I would brush her long black hair, god how it had gotten so long. With her being in a coma, her black waves went away and it changed to long black pencil straight hair. I wished i could see her big green eyes again, but i knew that was gone.

I was sitting in my usual chair next to Ariana's hospital bed, I showed sleeping Ariana my wedding invitation, "I forgot to give you this," I placed the invitaion next to a picture of her, Lou, and Harry. "I wish you could be my bridesmaid." I smiled and I looked at her pale skin.

I blanked out for a bit and a flashback appeared in my mind. Ariana's mom was in a hospital bed weak and dying. Ariana's mom held my tiny hands. She smiled at me, "Melanie, you have always been like a second daughter to me."

"A-And you are like a mother to me." Tears fell down my small cheeks. I had always been able to hide my emotions, like crying but seeing her die, was like watching my own mother die.

She held my hand and i squeezed it tight. "I want you to promise me something okay?"

I nodded at Ariana's mother, and a tear fell down her green eyes.

"I want you to take care of my little Ari, please.. Shes my every-" Her heart moniter went flat and her eyes closed calmly. I cried and shook her body hoping she would respond, but she didn't. Ariana's father had already died a few hours before her, so Ariana was already emotionally destroyed. I walked over to her and she was on the hospital floor crying, I walked over to her and I sat down next to her, I looked in Ariana's eyes and she looked at me with hope, "I'm-I'm sorry.." was I could say.

Ariana knew what that meant, and she closed her eyes. A single tear fell and she nodded. Ariana and I were only 8 years old, when we saw her parents die because of a drunk truck driver, when they were coming to pick us up from a sleepover because Ariana didn't want to stay... Her parents car was completley destroyed making them also seriously injured.

Ariana got to spend some final seconds with her parents saying goodbye but after their death she was never the same. She blamed herself for the death of her parents. She always told herself "I should've not called, they would've still been here with me." I knew it wasn't her fault. I tried to tell her it wasn't her fault, but she never listened. Then Ariana went towards depression at such a young age, at the age of 9 she would cut herself and watch herself bleed.. She lived with my parents and I, since we were like her second family, as I was hers. She began wanting to commit suicide and almost succeded at the age of 12. She became bulimic at 14 and recovered at 18.. Ariana had been through so much, but through at all, I was always there for her...
