Mason's POV:

When I get to school the next day, everyone is staring at me. Everywhere I go, eyes are on me. It takes me a while to notice anything different, because people usually stare at me strangely when a new 'rumour' gets out, but these looks... These are different.

I go to my locker, grabbing my stuff nervously and searching the halls for my boyfriend. "Hey, babe," I hear the familiar British accent greet, before I feel a pair of hands wrap around my waist.

I relax slightly, slumping against his chest. "Hey," I whisper. "Why is everyone staring at me?"

"D-Don't know," he says, his voice cracking a bit. "So... How are you? You seem sad. I don't like you sad. Smile, mister!"

I force a small smile, leaning down and kissing him. "Can... Canyouwalkmetoclass?"

A huge, loving smile spreads across Xzavier's face, and he starts to 'awe.' "Oh, my God, you are so fucking cute!" He squeals, kissing all over my face. "Of course, good sir. Where are we off to?" He holds out his arm for me, grinning widely, eyes twinkling with love and something else I can't quite place.

I force down my blush and attach myself to his side, telling him the number of the classroom I have for first period. Xzavier pulls me to the class, kissing me softly. "Know that I love you so much, Mason," he says, suddenly looking dead serious and a little nervous. "So much. And things I do, I do them 'cause I love you."

"What did you do?" I ask nervously, my hand gripping his. "Xzavier...?" He gives me a shaky smile, eyes flicking to the door.

I turn the handle and push the door open, peeking inside. "Xzavier," I say in shock, tears filling my eyes.

A police officer smiles softly at me, opening the door wider. "Mason Tomkins?" Xzavier takes my hand, giving me an apologetic smile.

"W-why did you do that?" I mumble to him. "I t-told you not to get involved!"

I back up, ripping my hand away from my 'boyfriend's,' trying to escape the police officer. "Stay away from me," I growl.

Xzavier whimpers slightly, walking back up to me and wrapping his arms tightly around me. "I love you so much, babe. I'm doing this for you."

"Mason, you aren't in trouble," the police lady tells me again, her voice extremely gentle, like she's talking to a wild animal or something. "We just want to take you home."

"I don't need to go home!" I yell. "Leave me alone! Stay away from me!"

Someone grabs me from behind, restraining my arms and beginning to drag me away from everyone. "Get off me!" I shriek at the police officer who's holding me. "Get off, let me go!" I glare harshly at Xzavier. "I HATE YOU!" I yell. "I HATE YOU SO MUCH, YOU FUCKING PRICK! I TOLD YOU TO STAY OUT OF IT! GO ROT IN HELL, YOU ASSHOLE, I HATE YOU!"

Tears rush down Xzavier's face, and he starts to sob loudly. "I did it for you!" He cries, trembling violently. "For you! How could you even say that?!"

"I CAN'T GO BACK!" I shriek. "I'M NOT READY, DON'T MAKE ME GO BACK! I HATE YOU, XZAVIER RESSE, I HATE YOU!"

Xzavier's POV

Tears stream down my face and I pace the halls, violently tugging at my hair. He hates me. Hate. Fucking hate!

"I told you!" I growl at Clover, slowly turning to her, my eyes once again filling with tears. "I told you! He hates me now!"

A slow grin stretches across her face. "I know," she says smugly.

My hand once again whips out, but instead of just slapping her, I punch her. Dead in the eye. "FUCK YOU!" I shriek. "FUCK YOU! I HATE YOU SO FUCKING MUCH!" My fist doesn't stop from going, and I punch down to her nose and jaw and anywhere it will reach. "FUCK. YOU."

She eventually scrambles away from me, sobbing for breath. "He'll never love you," she spits. "He never did! Couldn't you see?! He was all over Christian! And now that he's gone, Christian is mine!"

"Fuck you!" I sob, dropping to my knees and crying even harder. "You were my best friend and you fucking betrayed me... I hope you rot in hell, you selfish bitch!"

She staggers to a standing position. "Mason never loved you," she spits, glaring down at me. "He never did and he never will. Christian never cared about you either, and as soon as you started dating Mason, he started hating you. And I sure as hell don't care about you, either. You have no one, Xzavier, no one! Everything was a lie! Everything! Mason will never forgive you, ever!"

"Fuck you!" I shriek, getting to my feet again and slamming her into a wall, repeatedly. "Fuck. You. You. Stupid. Hoe! CHRISTIAN WILL NEVER LOVE YOU, EITHER! CAN'T YOU TELL HOW GAY HE IS?!"

"YOU'RE LYING!" She accuses, trying to push me off of her. "YOU'RE LYING!"

I shake my head, grinning wickedly, and finally let go. "No. Can't you tell? I mean, I walked in on them holding each other and crying. That's a thing a fairy would do, don't ya think?"

She glares at me, her entire stature falling. Everything she's done within the entire book has been for nothing. All for nothing. Because in the end, Christian is still not straight. "He never loved you! Mason at least loved me a bit. But no, not Chris. You did your research, didn't you see his name on there? I sure did, but, hell, I didn't want to believe it!"

"That wasn't him," Clover insists weakly. "It was a different name."

"Really? How about how close Mason and Christian are?" I continue, my smile turning bitter, just like I feel on the inside. "They're so close. And how come? How come Christian never really brought him up? It's 'cause he was afraid for Mason! And even if Mason hates me, Christian will never love you!"

"He does love me!" She shrieks, looking mad. "He loves me, he does!"

I smirk, shaking my head as I back away. "No," I say, chuckling darkly. "He likes dicks. And though you are one, he likes actual dicks. Sorry, honey, but you were nothing but a beard to him."

She lets out a frustrated scream, storming by me and rushing away. I just laugh again, everything in me that was once happiness turning into dark, mean hatred.

Mason Tomkins was an ass to me when we first met, and he was an ass to me when we last saw each other. And though the love of my life walked out on me, I did it for his own good.

And even if I'll try my hardest, I know I'll never be the same.

Mason Tomkins was the best and worst thing that ever happened to me, and I know that I'll never, ever be able to forget him.

~~~
Oohhhh shit. Now you know why Xzavier was an ass in COH ;)
Onto the epilogue! :D
