Xzavier's POV:

"D-did he leave?" I whisper to Christian, peeking up above his shoulder. He simply shrugs and looks around the house before taking a look outside.

"Mason." Christian gets Mason's attention and pushes me to him with a raised eyebrow.

Mason snaps out of his thoughts and looks at me with a raised eyebrow. "Can I help you?" He asks, a slight quiver in his voice.

Chris rolls his eyes. "Apologize," he commands, pushing me into Mason even more so that I tumble into his lap.

Mason freezes, his arms slightly above his head. "Move," he says in an emotionless voice. I nod, quickly scrambling from his lap and falling onto the porch floor.

He sighs, shoving his trembling hands in his pockets. "What did you want?" He asks harshly, his eyes still closed.

"Um... I didn't... Christian..." I pull Chris in front of me, waiting for someone to say something.

He sighs. "Mason, just apologize," he begs. "Please."

"I'm sorry," Mason says through gritted teeth, his eyes popping open to glare at Christian and I. I shrug, still clinging to Christian.

"It's fine," I mumble before heading inside and into my room, plopping down on my bed. It wasn't the actual word 'fag' that bothered, it's the unwanted memories it brings.

"Can I go home yet?" Mason asks Christian as they come into the room.

Chris shakes his head, tugging Mason along. "Nope. You're stuck with us." He gives him a smirk, draping an arm around Mason's shoulders. For some reason, this makes me feel... Jealous. I quickly turn away from them, glaring at the bed.

Mason discreetly leans against Christian, glaring, but I catch it, which only angers me more. "You call me a fag?" I question, sitting straight up on the bed with narrowed eyes. My best friend quickly pulls away from Mason and gives me a look that tells me not to start.

"Yeah," Mason says, shrugging stiffly. "There's a difference between throwing an arm around a guy, and calling them h-hot," he says, glaring at me.

"I didn't say hot," I point out. "I said good-looking. I call it as I see it, and you're good looking. So is Chris, but I'm not dropping my pants for him."

Mason's face pales, and he quickly turns it into a glare, opening his mouth but no words coming out. I see the slight trembling of his hands, which he stuffs in his pockets. Chris looks between us before abruptly saying, "Why can't you two just get along? I hate seeing my two best friends fighting. That would be like seeing Clover and Xzavier fight, it would be horrible."

"I don't want to fight with him!" I say honestly. "But when he's nice for a moment, and I think the moment keeps on going, he kills it by saying some rude shit."

Mason opens his mouth, but, once again, no words escape him. He turns around on his heels, his body rising and falling as he takes deep breaths. I simply scoff, sick of his 'poor me' act, and lay back on the bed. "Baby," I mumble under my breath as I pick at my nails.

"Shut the fuck up," he snarls, glaring at me hatefully. "You don't know anything, so shut your goddamn mouth, you ungrateful bastard!"

Christian, finally looking like he's had enough, explodes. "Enough!" He booms. "Enough, both of you! I'm so sick of all this fighting! Mason, I get what you've been through, but can you please try to get along with him? Xzavier isn't going to try and do anything to you!" He turns to me. "And you. You don't know anything, so just stop! Mason is an asshole, I get that, but he has his reasons! Your comments aren't helping anything, Xzavier! I understand he's a dick! Don't you think I would know that? But he has his reasons!"
