So, if you've ever read any of the comments on my stories, then you know that I like role-playing using my OCs. At this point, they might as well be real XD. Anyway, I've actually had ideas for little events involving them. This is a collection of s...
Soren skipped through the woods, enjoying the peaceful quiet. He'd almost forgotten how nice the woods could be at night.
It's not night, that abomination is blocking out the sun.Anubis piped up in Soren's head. It's very emo.
That made sense. "so what are we looking for?" Soren had just been aimlessly wandering, but clearly Anubis was on the lookout.
Suddenly a strapping young individual came crashing out of the bushes, making a beeline for Soren.
Soren felt himself being pushed back as Anubis slipped on his beak mask and goggles, the symbols of his control.
"Limeade!" He exclaimed. "It's so good to see you!"
Limeade barely managed to slow down enough not to crash into Anubis before they started bowing respectfully. "Sir," they began, "it is good to see you as well. If I'm being honest, I didn't expect the plan to work."
Anubis clicked his tongue in mock disappointment. "You need to have more faith in yourself." He reached inside his jacket and pulled out a knife, handing it to Limeade. "I take it you know what's coming next?"
The narrator flipped open their notebook and starts writing, nodding their head. "Vaguely, yeah. Not entirely sure but I get the gist of it."
Crossing his arms, Anubis looked around. "You're the one person I can trust to have my back in this, Lime. Don't disappoint."
Lime nodded and took off back in the woods. As Anubis watched Lime run away, he grumbled and pulled off the mask and goggles, Soren coming back in control. Don't let him get killed.
Soren nodded, before following behind Limeade.
------------
Lime stared at the symbol they'd just carved in the ground. This was only the second time they'd made it, but Anubis had created it so they trusted it.

Anubis had told him it would link Lime to the symbol when activated, so they buried a lock of their hair in the middle of it.
....nothing happened. Lime opened their notebook and started writing again, trying to figure out what they did wrong. Was it the shape? Did they miss some instructions from Anubis?
"Looks like somebody is having a spot of trouble!" Lime spun around at the sudden voice behind them. As soon as they saw who it was, their eyes widened and they tried to run.
The shadow monster grinned, swiping one of its hands and causing the shadows of the trees nearby to grab onto Limeade and drag him down into its shadow world. As the self-proclaimed King of Shadows fell backwards into one of its shadows, Soren stepped out from behind a tree, stepping on the rune Lime had drawn on the ground.
Soren waved at the King of Shadows as the rune began to glow, Lime's signature color enveloping him as the King of Shadows sank into its realm.
------------
Soren waved at the shadowy child as it disappeared, wondering where it had taken Limeade. Anubis said the purpose of this rune was to swap places with the person who had set it up, which meant Soren would end up wherever Lime did.
If you're scared we could always switch out. A tempting offer. But Soren could handle himself if he had to. He felt Anubis scowl in...wherever he was whenever he wasn't in control. Spoilsport.
Soren rolled his eyes. Suddenly, he was blinded with a green light and then everything around him became muted and dull. They were in the shadow world. And they weren't alone.
Drawing his dagger from inside his coat, Soren spun around and prepared for a fight. He was shocked, however, to see that there was nobody there.
Above you, Soren!
Soren stabbed his dagger upwards, connecting with flesh. Something screeched loudly, and Soren rolled away to get a better look at it. He almost threw up.
It was a corpse. A mangled, dismembered corpse, cloaked in and held together by thick liquid-like shadows. Upon seeing it, Soren felt a tinge of familiarity.
"that's...is that your old body?"
Anubis didn't answer. He didn't have to. They both knew it to be true.
Soren heard a manic giggling above him, looking up and seeing the King of Shadows. "You like what I've done with your old body?" It dropped down and kicked the creature, causing it to retreat back. Soren felt disgusted. "I felt it was only fitting seeing how you treated us." The King of Shadows gesured around itself. "Me, Mirror, Orchid, Frostbite. We were all just playthings that didn't end up how you hoped."
Soren felt Anubis cringe at that. And the cliches just keep coming... "You weren't playthings, you were experiments. Each and every one of you failures, by the way."
He gagged. Every time Anubis spoke out of turn, it tasted like bile and rotting meat.
"Failures....?" The King of Shadows smirked, gesturing around them all. "I'm powerful enough to kill you and take over the SBF!" It slipped into a nearby shadow and reappeared right in front of Soren. "I even blocked out the sun! How could that possibly be considered a failure?"
Soren drew his dagger and lunged past the KoS, aiming for the monster that had been watching them from a distance. It tried to defend itself, but Soren was able to slice apart the solid shadows at its core.
"You're a failure," Anubis spat out, "because you were stupid enough to turn me into a battery." After taking over Soren's body again, he grabbed the creature and finished tearing it apart, laughing manically as the shadows retreated from the corpse.
"NOOOO!!" The King of Shadows looked around as its shadow world began to melt away, transitioning the two of them back to the normal SBF.
Anubis slipped on his mask and goggles and looked at his failed creation, holding out his hand. "Now you have a choice," he said, his voice dripping with sadism. "Either you hand over my crown and I kill you quickly, or you make me take it from you and I lock you away in the deepest, loneliest pit I can find in the Basement."
Before it could answer, Anubis found himself encased with red ice. Frostbite walked in front of Anubis and knocked on the ice.
Frostbite, you pathetic waste of space excuse for a clone when I get my HANDS ON YOU!
Then he noticed it. A small, quickly fading line of Shadow leading from Frostbite to the King of Shadows. This brought Anubis more joy than he thought it would. I mean, he'd forced it to use its last resort. It really was just a little, pathetic failure!
Anubis giggled. He couldn't help it. The fear on the King of Shadows' face was priceless! As sunlight began to bleed through the shadow for the first time in months, the King of Shadows ran away and left Anubis there to buy itself time.
------------
Frostbite left hours ago, after they regained consciousness. Once they'd realized where they were and who was in front of them, they too had fled in fear. Now that Anubis had thawed out, though, he began trudging his way towards the park. It was time to announce his return.
