"Hey how long is the boss gonna let us just stand here?" The man inside the soldier suit was extremely annoyed at how he was going to be left out of the action, so he decided to vent out his frustration to his partner.
"Hey man, I don't like it any more then you do. So just shut up before someone reports you to the captain." His partner was the older, the more responsible one, not wanting to get into trouble.
They were standing guard in a damp, rat infested alleyway to the site where the majority of troops were gathered, cold and hungry, but afraid to speak it, these two troops have been here since the attack finished five minutes ago, it was apparent that the town had no self-defence whatsoever, resulting in a terrible, one-sided massacre.
"So, you sure we gonna get paid for this sh*t?" His partner was getting annoyed at this man's complaints and was about to lash out with a comment on his mother until he saw a figure standing just behind them.
"Hey! You see that?" His partner, confused at this sudden off topic observation, so he scratched his head and looked over his shoulder to see a girl with lime green hair, brilliant in the dark, looking at them with a sly smile. They were both very confused, as all the townsfolk should be running for the hills at this point in time, or of course, dead.
"What do you think? Our orders were to shoot on sight." The brash soldier, lifted his gun and looked at his partner for guidance, he was fairly new and only took this job because it was the only one that accepted crooks like him, but as bad as theft goes, he was still quite nauseous at the thought of spilling blood, that is the reason he got assigned to guard duty after all. The older soldier, however, had been hardened by the war and knew that orders were orders.
"Do it."
The rat-ta-ta of a submachine gun filled the alley way for a few seconds as the green haired beauty fell.
"Tch. That leaves a bad taste." The brash one lowered his gun and looked away, but the older one noticed something different.
"Hey come over here for a second." The soft steps of boots on cobblestone annoyed the brash one as he reluctantly followed, muttering something about god and sins.
"You know, this is my first kill, so you could at least be nice enough to spare me th-" He got no further into his thought as a loud clang resonated through his skull. Hearing the noise, his partner turned around to see a tall skinny silhouette scrambling to get off the wet cobblestone, he spotted a dented metal pot in its left hand as he opened fire on him. Only to get smacked in the back of the head by another metal pot, from the supposedly dead girl.
"You know, in case you haven't noticed, physical prowess isn't exactly my forte." L.L. let out an irritated remark as he picked at the bullets in his skin.
The girl began to strip the fallen guards of their armour as well as their weapons, after she had assumed her new role as a soldier in whatever this organization was, she tossed the other body to L.L.
"Come on princess, time to attend to your ball." L.L. sighed and steeled himself for the sweaty body armour.
"Let's just hope everyone has their masks."
