I stiffly walked down the halls, while mom gave me suspicious looks. It was the day after I saw what I saw. It was the same woman I drew, but, real. I stayed up all night watching the corner. Making sure nothing jumped out at me in the night, which caused a sleepless night. I was so tired, so I slowly lowered myself on the couch. Dad was watching Judge Judy, his favourite show. (He loves seeing people end up in difficult situations.) I watched it as well, getting bored of the show of how some person destroyed the door of a car. Mom gave me a chore, to do the dishes which I ever so slowly did, not wanting to break anything due to my sleepyness. Ugh, I'd give anything just to lie down and rest. After I finished, I went downstairs and felt the coolness reach my skin. "Aaaaa!" I let out a relaxed sigh as I settled myself on the guest room bed. I let my eyelids close and felt myself slip into into a wonderful dream...

"Hi dear! Oh I'm so happy to see you!" Mom said. Then something loomed up behind her and me and mom gasped. Mom fell and clawed at the ground. Something was dragging her. "MOM!" I yelled. I tried to get a hold of mom, but it didn't work. Mom was dragged into the bathroom and the door slammed shut. I heard mom scream...

I woke with a start, mom's scream still ringing in my ears. I gasped and clutched my stomach. Not real, not real, just a dream, it's just a dream. I closed my eyes and shuttered. This wasn't the only dream I've had these last 3 days. Some were mild, just a creak on the floorboards, and some seemed so real, mom had to call a person from the insane institution. They asked some questions, answers were told, and all they said was:

"It's just a phase."

Yeah right.

I walked back upstairs and once I was on the fourth step, I felt like someone was watching me. I spun around. There was just emptyness, besides dad working in his office. The glass doors were closed shut. I saw a paper wedged between the doors. Did dad leave it? How could he do that if he was inside working? I took one scan around the room and tip-toed my way to the doors. I carefully removed the note and opened it up.

Two more days left. You beter hid. Skylar youll be the best dol on my shelf.

Once I read it, the first thing I thought was: bad grammer. Then I thought: oh no

I rushed upstairs, into my room, and pushed myself to the ground and reached under my bed. Once I felt the cool touch of plastic, I pulled it out and put it on my bed. I knelt on my knees and studied the doll. I am not ending up like that. I thought. Poor Anneliese. Her mom was worried sick of where she was. She called my mom one hundred times and even called the police. The police were on an investigation, and still haven't found any clues. My mom kept asking me, but I couldn't answer the truth, so I simply shrugged. If I could find a way to release Aneliese of this.. curse I would. I mean, she was my best friend. We were unseprable. I looked at the details. She had a white dress with a green lace around her waist and sleeves with lace on the hems and white boots. Her red hair was in a ponytail, and she had her green eyes and blush. She looked beautiful, for a doll. Her sleeves came up to her elbows and made a cup shape around them. I sighed.

Why us? Aneliese, what do I do?

Somehow, a voice came out as suddenly as I asked. "The mirror. Destroy it. Destroy all mirrors." I hardly heard the words, but I suddenly understood. I had to break all the mirrors in the house to free myself. That was Mary's portal. But this was not going to be easy. Mom would be onto me as soon as I broke one she would ground me for a year. And we had a lot of mirrors. Yikes. I needed a plan, a diversion to get mom out of the house, as well as dad.

Plan set.
