"I love you, Annabeth." Percy murmured in his sleep.

Sally, who was sitting against one of the walls in the room, gasped.

"Doctor! He said something!" she exclaimed.

Doctors in clean white coats rushed into the room, where Percy was slowly stirring.

"Where am I? Where's Annabeth? Why am I in a hospital?" Percy asked, managing to pull himself upright.

"Percy, sweetie, who's Annabeth?" Sally asked, intrigued.

"Annabeth is my girlfriend. You met her." the seventeen year old stared at his mother, unable to comprehend why she couldn't remember Annabeth.

"Percy, this may be a little hard to take in, but you've been in a coma since you were twelve. You're seventeen now. You hit your head during a field trip in sixth grade and fell into a coma." one of the doctors explained softly.

"What? But Annabeth? And Tartarus? And-" Percy was cut of by his mom.

"Percy, I'm really sorry, there is no Annabeth." Sally stood up and pulled her son into an embrace.

"But-bu-it seemed so real!" he protested.

"I know it's a little hard to take in, considering you missed over five years of your life, but this is the harsh truth." another doctor told him.

"You'll be fine Percy. They just have to give you a checkup, and then we can leave." Sally finally let go of her son, a little reluctantly.

There is no Annabeth. There is no Camp Half Blood. Mr.Brunner isn't Chiron. We never killed Gaea. We never killed Kronos. We were never betrayed by Luke Castellan. The gods don't exist. We never fell in Tartarus. Leo Valdez doesn't exist, much less die. I never fell in Ogygia.

Words kept replaying in Percy's head. He was still unable to comprehend the fact that Annabeth didn't exist.

The doctors gave him a quick checkup, and then Percy was ready to go home.

"Percy, I made you blue cookies." Sally gave Percy another hug.

"At least blue cookies exist." Percy sighed, flopping in a chair with a cookie.

"Of course they do." Sally laughed.

"Can I take a walk outside?" Percy asked.

Sally nodded and Percy grabbed his jacket and walked out the door.

He walked past the Empire State Building, and told himself there was no 600th floor.

He glanced at a ferry to Long Island. There's no Camp Half Blood.

Finally making up his mind, he payed for a ticket on the ferry, and he silently watched the water, wondering if he actually had water powers or not.

The ferry stopped abruptly and Percy, who was standing up with nothing to hold on, crashed into someone.

A blond haired girl. One with gray eyes. With an orange shirt.

"Sorry. Is that a Camp Half Blood t-shirt?" Percy apologized.

The girl stared at him. "How do you know about that?"

"I don't know...I was in a coma for years and I had a dream and my dad was Poseidon and stuff." Percy explained.

"Well, Poseidon has no demigod kids. I'm Annabeth, by the way."

"I'm Percy. Wait, your name is Annabeth?"

"Yes. Is this part of the whole dream thing?"

"Yes."

"Can you take me to camp? I have a feeling my questions will be answered there."

"As long as you swear you're not a monster. Even though you look like one." Annabeth smirked.

"HEY!"
