Chapter 8

“So this is the kitchen and every Thursday, Linda; she’s low ranked within our pack but she is one hell of a baker, does the shopping. Usually she does it out of town but if there is something you want you can put it on the list or pick it up at the store in town.”

After I had left Easton, I met up with the beta and the other teenaged fae for a tour of the white house we would call home. We were shown the grand staircase with that opulent bannister decked out with wrought iron wolf silhouettes. We were then shown down one hall that led to a room which Brett referred to as a laundry room, another staircase and then the male and female bathrooms. When we females took a peek in, I was surprised to see that my blood was erased from every surface that it had previously touched. After that hall, we went down another to see a room referred to as the ‘rec room’. Inside there were chairs and couches all surrounding a large TV with all different game consoles hooked up. Brett named them all of but they went right over my head.

The next room we were led into was the dining room. It was painted a light shade of yellow and the bay window was decked out with three simple cushions that looked comfortable enough to curl up on while reading a book. The table was a mahogany and was placed right in the center of the room. On top, there were two vases containing large and brightly colored sunflowers.

Which brings us to the present and the kitchen.

It had a light blue and silver colored black splash that coincided with the light blue walls. The cabinets were white and on some there were glass panes.

All in all, the house was beautiful.

“And that’s pretty much it,” the beta said and looked around. “So are there any questions?”

I kept quite beside Siobhan while Branna piped up, “So like, where are the bedrooms? And will we be sharing?” She sent a wink to the person behind me. Automatically I turned around and was stunned by his closeness. When I met his warm eyes he sent me a smile and disregarded all comment made by my fellow fairy.

“Some of you will be sharing. Not all of you though,” he said to Branna and then directed his attention to Easton. “Hey do you have the list?”

“Yup,” he replied popping the ‘p’ and stepped in line with Brett. Unfolding the paper that had just been erected from his pocket, Easton gazed around the crowd.  A visible scowl formed on his face when he met Art.

Whatever Art did to him was still unknown to me. And to Art considering that he was cowering away.

“Okay,” he said with superiority in his voice. “Branna and Brigid will be rooming in room seven on the second floor.” The two girls squealed at the fact that they were going to be what the beta was currently referring to as ‘roommates’. “Art,” Easton sneared, “and Carrick will be in room twelve on the second floor.” Easton kept reading off the list and was now reading those who were to be on the third floor.

“I hope we room together Kee,” Siobhan whispered.

I nodded in agreement, “there is only four of us left so there is a chance.”

“Aideen, Gael, and Siobhan will be in room eleven on the third floor.”

“WHAT?!” Siobhan hollered out with disappointment lining her face, “that is three to a room. What about Keeva? Are you going to make her sleep out in the yard?”
