I mean, that's not what's bothering me... It's the way she asked, the sour look on her face as she spat the question at me.I was too afraid to say no.
I've never seen Ali like this, though, and it's hard for me to understand. It's like she sees me, my eyes, hair, body... But she can only see what's on the surface. She may see the pain that's in my eyes or even the word rape stamped across my forehead, but she can't see what (or who) is behind it. She can see the horizontal and vertical lines that stretch across my body, but she see that a blade caused them,and she probably doesn't know why they're there.
She sees what I can't, and it's sad because it's still not enough.
