Holiday happiness
"Hun..." You hear whispers, but just turn at the other side of the bed. "Ah, come on." As you gently open your eyes, letting them to adjust to the light, you see Liam at his side of the bed, nervously looking at the floor. You sit up, and get Liam's attention. He climbs closer to you, looking at your eyes, smiling at you.
"Good morning, love." You say and kiss him softly.
"I wish it was good for me, but hey, good morning as well."
"Why wouldn't it be good?" You ask, and get up from the bed, heading for the wardrobe.
"I'm feeling very anxious about this..." He says, and gets up.
As you were looking yourself at the mirror, Liam came behind you and hugged you from the back. You smiled instantly and giggled.
"Don't you think that I'm anxious as well? They are my parents and I'm the one who needs to tell them that." You say with a worried look. But Liam calmed you down by placing trails of kisses on your neck and placing his hands on your slightly swollen stomach.
"Hey, we're married, so it won't be a problem saying them that they're going to get a grandchild soon. It's not a crime..." He says then furrows his eyebrows. "...I guess." He added, with a giggle. "What do you think we'll have?"
"To be honest, I really don't care what will we get, as long as the baby is healthy." You say and look down on your stomach. Both you and Liam were very excited when you found out, I mean, who wouldn't be? Although it's been just 4 months, you two couldn't help but already prepare everything, even though you don't know the gender. Liam is obviously wishing for a girl, because every time you two go shopping, he stops and looks at little dresses, murmuring that he cannot wait to have a princess in his life.
"Yeah, that's right..." He says and leaves a quick kiss on your cheek. "We better get ready, eh?" You nod and went to take your clothes. This was your first Teejri together that you're spending with your parents. And it was Liam's first traditional Teejri, where he needed to play by the rules. Of course, he was very nervous.
"How do I look?" You say, and face Liam.
"Irresistible." He said, absolutely startled. He loved to see you wearing those shirts where he could see your baby bump, because he would cheer up whenever he looked at you, knowing there's his prince or princess growing in it.
"You won't fast, right?" Liam asked seriously, pointing at you.
"It's tradition, Liam." You sigh.
"Does that refer on pregnant women? Please babe, there's no need to fast, you're eating for two, not just yourself." Liam claimed, and dressed himself as well. "Your parents will understand, trust me." He winked and smiled.
"If you say so, hun." You blushed when you said hun.
"Did I tell you that you look so darn cute when you smile?"
"You say that every day."
"I believe every day isn't enough. Every second would be perfect." He said and pulled you in a hug, then kissed your forehead. "We better go now."
You both went out of your flat and headed for your parents' house. They greeted you and Liam very excitedly, and started hugging you and kissing your cheeks. All of your relatives were there as well. On of your cousins immediately noticed your stomach and pulled you aside, away from the family.
"Please tell me you won't fast today." She said with excitement ih her voice. "Have you told mom and dad?"
"No, I won't fast, and no, I haven't told them yet. Don't worry, there's still time." You smiled and went back to the enormous living room everyone was currently into. Female part of the family gathered around one table to apply henna to their hands, and the male part was braging about life and other interesting subjects on the couch, as well as asking Liam about you two and how are you holding.
"So, have you started with your fast?" Mother asked, and each one, except of you, nodded. At the end, you confirmed it as well. The smile you had on your lips couldn't be brighter as you were writing Liam's name on your palm. You also decorated it and at the end, felt very proud of your work.
It was already 5PM, and you still hadn't put any food in your mouth. Your stomach was growling so badly, you had to cough or talk while it was murmuring. You've had enough and you took Liam with you in the kitchen. You took out a plate of chola bhatura and commanded Liam to feed you. As he was putting the food in your mouth, your parents suddenly walk into the kitchen and looked at you shockingly.
"I do not believe my very eyes. How could you break your fast?"
"Mom, I can explain, I really can."
"Can you?"
"It wasn't my fault." You said, head bowed, then took Liam's hand and placed it on your stomach. "It was your granddaughter or grandson's." You announce with a wide smile.
Your parents were startled, but quickly turned their mood from shocked to extremely happy. They were congratulating you for an hour, at least. After announcing the great news to all family members, you all went out to celebrate Teejri with one last thing. You sat on a swing and Liam started pushing you.
"I love you so much. And this was the best Teejri I had in my life." Liam added, and you both giggled.
