Emily and I, plus their mom, were outside the hospital with Jaime, reassuring him that all will be well and nothing will go wrong. "Relax, it's only foot surgery; you will be able to go home after it." Emily laughed, "Plus we have a small surprise for when you get home." Emily added, "It better be a Modelo! No, but in all seriousness, I'm pretty optimistic as long as I keep working out and eating the right stuff; I think I will be ok," Jaime stated as he got up to get into the hospital.
Once inside, Emily grabbed a wheelchair so that Jaime could sit without needing those crutches. We finally sat down in the waiting room area, and Jamie just had to sign a few more papers, which did not take too long, and before we knew it, he was done signing the papers, so we were taken to a room, but before we could enter, Jaime had to change into a hospital gown, so Emily, his mom, and I were waiting outside the room.
There he was on the bed with the nurse next to him putting the IV on him, but in a few minutes the nurse was giving him anesthesia. His mom was next to him, making sure he was comfortable, but when he was breathing that in, Emily asked in a joking manner, "Any last words?" Jaime took a moment to respond. "I tried," he said while giggling, which made Emily and me giggle with him, but seconds later nurses came in the room to take him, so we had to say goodbye and wish him well and that everything goes smoothly.
Hours later they brought him back, and he looked a bit sad, but that was only because of the anesthesia making him tired, but now we wait for the doctor to finish explaining everything and what is going to happen so we can go home.
Finally, we are in the car, Emily driving and his mom in the passenger side, while Jamie and I are in the back seats, but before we made our way back home. Emily asked him how he feels; he responded, "like a million bucks," which made me silently giggle.
When we made it home, he slowly made his way inside, but he stopped at the door because he noticed the basket on the side table. "Wow, is this for me? You guys should have let me take a picture to upload to Instagram," said Jaime. "Ok, but you can upload it while you are on the couch. Let us take you to the couch; you look tired. I added while we were dragging him to the couch.
We plopped him down, but before he lay down, he paddled the seat next to him so that I could sit down. "I can't; you need your rest," I whispered. "Please," he whispered back to me, looking at me with those beautiful brown eyes. I didn't even say anything; I just sat down. He set his head on my lap, but once he was lying there, Max made his way up the couch to lie next to him too. My hand slowly gravitated to Jaime's hair, so I sat there playing with his hair as he was uploading the picture to his Instagram story, but it didn't take long for him to fall asleep, and in a matter of minutes my eyelids started to get heavy, and the soft snores he was making put me at ease too, so I gave in and fell asleep too.
After I woke up, I checked my phone to see a message for Emily, and it was a picture of me and Jaime asleep that she took from the loft.
