Authors note:

This should be a final repost, maing sure that this is at least understandable as a mixed POV chapter.

Right, so first things first:Thalia = beginning of each section in her POV is marked by three stars ( *** ) and ended with three stars ( *** )

Damian = normal (no stars)

It's not perfect, but it works; to some extent. It'll do for now -____-

Once again however I apologise for the random spacing, I'm currently working on correcting that :) xox.......................................................................................................................................................................

Chapter Seven:

A Past Life

Damian

Piece by piece the world came back into focus around me.

First the shapes of large objects emerged through the haze in my eyes, then smaller details on things further back in the distance.

I felt very faint, like a had just been on a cross country course sprinting for three hours straight then forced to hang upside down. At least it was good that I was lying down. But it felt like I was standing up. But that couldn't be right, I was most definitely lying down in the tube...

My vision became clearer, and a new sensation I had never experienced before wiggled into my head.

***Tall, well muscled boys walked around me, shouting out to friends and teachers while making beelines from their classes to the main lunch area. Although there was a huge bustle, I didn't feel threatened at all. Beside me strolled a girl of medium hight with dark brown, long ringlets. She was humming placidly, her small hands clutching at a sketch pad.***

Wait a moment! What was I doing here!? Where was I? Who was I? This wasn't the Research Centre! I wiggled my fingers, and felt them move, but when I looked to my hands, I saw nothing. This wasn't me! This wasn't my body! I felt utterly confused and trapped, what the hell had happened to me? I slowed my frantic breathing while a blurred rush of everything that had happened in the past fifteen minutes scored my head in two.

A clean white examination room, ten or so Researchers, Marie-Anne, what else? They had talked to me, told me what would happen.

I was going to view some images and videos, so I hadn't been transported anywhere. I though a little more. No matter what

I

did, it had no effect on the carrier I was being moved with.

***'C'mon, before all thah good spots ayre taken,' sang the ringlet girl happily, in words that glowed with joy.***

Those words, those syllables... they were not any I understood...

Naturesse!

My blood snap froze into place, rendering me immobile. I was somewhere populated by Naturesse! I tapped my non-showing fingers against my leg in a rapid and random pattern, and desperately tried to gather my recently scrambled thoughts, fighting against the fear churning through me. My brain chugged along at an excruciatingly slow pace.

Like piecemeal, a deformed - yet believable - idea formed in my head.

The wild Naturesse girl was in a tube, just like I was.

I was in somewhere populated by Naturesse people (or whatever they really were). Naturesse

things.

I was in her memory! I was seeing what the wild girl had seen!

But how was that even possible..?

What I was looking at were like images and videos, so the words of Marie-Anne and the Researchers rang true. Despite all odds...

Except I was in the images and videos, not watching them...

Meaningless Naturesse words ran around in circles in my head, mangled syllables and vowels, another tongue, another life.
