"It takes Mark only ten minutes or so to realize that Alec is the person he wants to be close to until they're back safe and sound in their homes." -pg. 97

Ten minutes? That's, like, the equivalent of an hour.. not really, but it would've taken me, like, five. How long would it have taken you? Or how long would it have taken you and then how long would it actually taken you in real life? How long would would your dream fictional self take, then how long would you from real life have taken? You get my meaning?

"Sun flares."
He says those two words like he needs to say nothing else. Like the others should instantly know everything going on in his mind.

..And do they know everything/most of what is going on in his mind? Does he need to say anything else? I don't know.. you tell me. Thoughts?

"He was scared of being scared."

So he wasn't just scared of being being threatened or at risk. The fact that he was in danger probably frightened him the most. To think that he is vulnerable at any second, could get killed or hurt at any moment, scared him out of his mind.

"A girl walked in after him, tall and thin with long red hair just a little younger than Mark.
A boy about Mark's age named Darnell is next, then a girl named Misty- another teenager, but older maybe eighteen..."

I just love descriptions- they give a visual, and instead having to decide what each and every character looks like, you would usually feel that the author's description is more valid, so to speak. Unlike when someone tells us what a friend might look like, when an author says the character looks a certain way, we the readers know that that description doesn't have to match the character. We know that fictional characters can look any way we want them to look. We don't have to follow the author's description. But then again, why not? Because even characters have flaws. But we want to deny those flaws. We want those ficitonal characterss that we know to be perfect. We only see their good side, not their bad.

Sorry I didn't have the page numbers. Be sure to vomment if you have any.
Thanks
