"From the inside.

Someone had been imprisoned.

And that someone was screaming." -pg. 57

This is torture. Absolute torture. For the readers and the character himself.... This quote is a read page-turner. Did anyone else just scan through the next few paragraphs instead of actually reading them?

"Then we need to be vigilant," the man said. "We need to be cautious and smart and ruthless if it comes to that." -pg. 63

That's the problem, Alec, that's the problem. Every author of every book I've possibly read had made the main character unable to be ruthless like they should be. I'm not sure about the "should" part, but you (hopefully) get my meaning. Comment if you don't, plz, at any time of any day of any chapter of any page of any.... you get my meaning, right?

"My head, my head, my head." -pg. 59

"My... head hurts," she whispered. -pg. 66

I put those two together for a reason. It would also be helpful if you could comment the characters who said these. Anyway, this is a huge turning point in the book. It's as if their brain is being eaten from the inside out. Horrible, it is. Still, why stay with them if they're not going to be the same? They're in grave danger, and they're all going to be if they stay there any longer.

"You can thank me later,"  he says in a deep, grinding voice. "My name is Alec. And I think we have a much bigger problem than these losers." -pg. 76

Flashback. Alec seems to be the life saver of the group. And Tris can be the smartie. See what I did there?

Alec: "Then let's quit yappin' and get slappin'." -pg. 79

He should've added in "lovebirds" and "lazy bums." Then again, it may just be me.

The Toad: "There... are... things in my head..." -pg. 83

Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of this going on in this section. It makes me angry, sad, and a while bunch of other things at the same time. No one as innocent as these characters deserves to go through this type of torture. It's just.. too much and not natural at all.

"It definitely had something to do with their head," Mark chimed in. "They all had massive passion. And loss of sanity. Darnell was hallucinating- plain crazy. And then Misty. And the Toad..." -pg. 90

...And a while bunch of other people we probably never learned about.. And perhaps the people who placed the serum in there weren't immune.. The main reason I added this quote was because it summed up their main problem right there and then and it's just so.. true.

"...Then a figure appeared. A little girl was walking toward them from the direction of the dead. She must've been five or six years old, with matted dark hair and filthy clothes." -pg. 91

The walking dead... sorry, serious business here (I suppose). But all the same, this is a survivor, and more importantly, a mere child. This is a huge finding, too. What if they never found her? Then what? She would had survived for no reason. Most importantly, she is immune. That means there are more like her and that they have a chance of surviving after all.

"It's another mouth to feed, but I guess she won't eat much." he smiled to show that he was joking- something that didn't happen very often. -Alec- pg. 95

Nicely said, Alec, nicely said. I imagine his smile must've really lightened up the mood if it rarely comes up.
