Chapter 4

Tyler wouldn’t leave me alone about the whole ‘I work at Victoria’s Secret’ thing. “So… we met today and you’re already treating me like were best friends… why?” I asked. Tyler smiled. “Let’s play 20 questions…” He said. I scowled at him. I don’t like it when people change the topic… its irritating. “Fine.” I mumbled.

He chuckled. “Alright… When did you move here?” He asked. I thought about it for a moment. “Uh… when I was 9” I said. He nodded. “Your turn.” “Uh. How old are you?” He chuckled “Typical… 18… you??” He asked. “17… why do you want to be friends with me?” he smiled. “because you’re different. I don’t want to be friends with someone who doesn’t have a story…” He explained simply. I nodded “Uh, your turn…” “Why are you allowing me to be your friend?” He asked. I looked down. That’s a really good question. I never let ANYONE in… I’m too afraid of getting hurt by them… It’s not worth it.

I sighed. “Uh… I don’t know… really. DEFFINETLY not because I like you.” I said poking my tongue out at him. I only said that because I knew he would say I did… if I didn’t say that. “Well then. I wasn’t even going to say that…” He said smirking thinking he has me cornered. “Uh… yeah you were… anyways… where do you work?” I asked. “I don’t.” He stated simply.

Wait… he doesn’t work? “How do I get my money? Simple… My parents.” He said after what seemed like reading my mind. “Why?” I asked. “Well it’s like asking you why you still live at home when you could have moved out. You just don’t want to change.” He said. “So full of wisdom.” I said. He smiled. “Yeah. I guess I’ve been through a lot.” I nodded understanding completely.

“Anyways… My turn… how many boyfriends have you had?” He asked. “Uh... none.” I said uncomfortably. Like I said. I was always the outcast. No one even looked at me twice. I’ll get into why later… now’s not the time.

To tell the truth I was expecting him to laugh in my face… but instead he smiled. Just smiled like it wasn’t horrible that a high school graduate doesn’t and has never had a boyfriend. “Why aren’t you laughing?” I asked. He looked shocked. His face went from shock to pain then to sympathy. “Why would I?” He asked. “Because it’s weird. I’m always laughed at because of it.” I said looking down.
