Chapter 16

**Dream**

I was in my 6 year old body. Smiling and giggling with my mom; and dad’s arms were around me. “Stop it daddy!” I exclaimed. He was tickling me while my mom held a camera video taping me. They were both laughing and it was fun. Suddenly they disappeared, Poof gone. Smoke and pictures of them while they were them flashed through the dream cloud quickly, like a strobe light of pictures. Then everything went black.

**

“Will she be ok?” I heard a soft voice ask. It was a pretty voice. A woman’s voice… where have I heard that voice before? “Yes she will be fine. She might forget who you are for a day or two.” Someone else’s voice chimed in. I decided to make an entrance. I tried opening my eyes but they were so heavy. When I finally got my eyes opened I took in my surroundings. I was in a bedroom. “Oh Naomi! Tyler’s been so worried.” The woman said. I looked at her carefully, trying to remember but my mind was blank, and it was like all memories were replaced with a black board. “Oh, Sarah, what’s wrong with her?” The lady asked frantic. “I told you, Karen. She won’t remember you for a while. She went into a state where she convinced herself something tragic didn’t happen. We are yet to figure out what the tragic thing was.” The lady whose name was apparently Sarah said.

“Uh… I’m sorry. Do I know you guys?” I asked slightly confused. Ok I take that back. VERY, confused. “Yes you do… well not me… You’ve been in a coma for about a week. How are you feeling Naomi?” Sarah asked kindly. I sighed. “Well I have a headache and I’m hungry and thirsty.” I said. She smiled “as to be expected. Karen would you mind?” she asked politely. Karen nodded and jumped up running out of the room. “Now, Naomi. I am going to give you some photos and I want you to tell me if you remember the people in them. She said handing me a stack of people.

I nodded and took it looking through all the pictures… most of them I said I knew them but couldn’t put a name to them; but then I got to a picture that changed everything. It was a boy, a boy I love. I could tell because it was of a girl and him at the beach. The girl looked a lot like me. “Who is that girl?” I asked Sarah, She smiled. “That’s you Naomi.” She said. I gaped. That couldn’t be me… I’m 9.
